Found that Topline has a new rack called the 'Maggie Rack' that is supposed to be universal mount. Rails shown in pics are silver, but can also be ordered black. Accepts Thule and Yakima roof racks parts.
Problem is that you have to drill the roof! Of course I guess that all luggage racks from the factory are drilled on too.

Just ordered one...thanks for the link! I've been looking for something like that for a long time! I'm thinking of mounting it cross-ways vs. long-ways. I dunno, I'll have to wait until it gets here and see what works best.

I've long been wanting a well-fitting and sorta OEM looking roof rack, so I'll be really interested to read your evaluation of the product and of the installation. Don't a dozen 25/64" holes qualify as a moonroof? You've demonstrated plenty of times that your'e a capable photographer, so of course, pics will be also much appreciated.
Why not order the ones for the Armada? They fit, a Titantalk member has tried it.
Not the quite the look I wanted. These fit what I have in mind better and they accept Thule/Yakima accessories as well should I decide to use them for that.

Lastly, how much?
KAP
lol, yeah if they tear up I'm just gonna get the sawz-all and make a full size moonroof to get rid of all the holes!
The price wasn't too bad I didn't think: $168 shipped. Much cheaper than the other rack I was looking at that was over 1K!
I emailed Topline about this rack - had a couple of questions and asked to see if they had some additional images of the rack and they sent me this link to their website.
1)Is this a recommended application?
It's recommended by Top Line....not necessarily by Nissan, however, we've provided this rack for many a Titan with nothing but good feedback from the end users.
2)Does the rack spread the load out enough to mount bikes on the roof rack?
Yes, you can customize the mounting point of the pods for your needs.
3)What is the load capacity of the rack mounted to sheet metal?
Load capacity depends on the Titan's rooftop load capacity. You can usually get this from the manufacturer. Once mounted, the Maggie becomes seamlessy integrated with the rooftop, thus the load capacity of the Maggie and of the rooftop will be one and the same. Usually between 160-200 pounds is standard.
4)Are there any special precautions that will help reinforce the sheetmetal?
I would recommend getting the rack professionally installed. Any outlet that installs sunroofs or other roof racks will have no problem mounting the Maggie to your Titan. If you going to do it yourself, I would suggest mounting the pods as close to the doors as possible, as that is the strongest part of the rooftop of any vehicle. Also, your truck may have integral crossbeams running either vertically of horizontally below the sheet metal. I would avoid mounting the pods on top of any crossbeam.

Good info! Ill post a full write up when I get it installed. Hopefully, it will get here before I go back to work Tues...I'm not counting on it, but we'll see. Now I gotta find that pic where the guy had his headliner down and see where the crossbars are.
Alright, got the rack in today and test fit on the truck. Pics follow. Overall impression of the rack is very good. High quality ball-joint on the pads that allow it to be positioned over pretty much any roofline you could think of. Cross bars are powder coated aluminum. Instructions look good, but I haven't read through them in detail. Overall, I'm very pleased with it!
The pics are of it mounted side-to-side vs. front-to-back. There's plenty of length to mount it front-to back for those considering doing it that way. I cut the bars down so that I have 48" from edge to edge.
I'll get some better shots during and after the install.
Looks great side to side like in your photos. And the black finish looks better than the ones they show on their web site.
Do you know if there are bike trays that will mount up to the rack in that orientation? Would be great not to have to put a full blown Thule or Yakima rack on the top of that - I'd rather not spend the extra money on their set up if I could help it.
Are the pads of the rack narrow enough to mount on the rise along the edge of the roof (when mounted front to rear), rather than the flat sheet metal in the center? I'm just thinking the ridge will be stronger than the roof tin.

Keep us updated on the install!
I don't think they make the bike trays themselves. The bars accept all the Yakima/Thule accesories and forks though so you should be able to order just the feet and crossbars/etc for the bike rack.

I'm guessing your talking about the part of the roof on the outside of the rain channel, right? If so, then no, they are a little too wide to fit there. I didn't measure the pads themselves but I would guess they are around 3" wide or so and 6" long. I haven't looked up there w/o the headliner, but I would assume that area has some type of solid beam/support for rigidity. They way these (and most all other) racks attach is with a well-nut that requires open space around where you are drilling so even if they were narrow enough, you probably wouldn't be able to mount them there anyway. I think you should have plenty of support though on the inside edge of that channel as long as you aren't carrying 500lb cargo up there.
How did the install end up going? I'm interested to see some photos from above that show how the foot of the rack mounts to the roof. Also interested to see how high the rack sits above the roof line.
