Which Intake To Buy?

I have been researching the different intake systems out there.
So far I like the Volant is the best. What is your experence?
How's your gas mileage and hp increase?

I have the Volant CAI. It is a little loud when you get on it, some like that and some don't. I noticed some gains in the upper RPM's but nothing down low.

I have the Nismo and I like it! It has a great sound when you stomp it and does improve the mid range RPM and response. It was easy to install and looks great if it matters to you. I think all of them are about the same in terms of performance and sound, it comes down to brand preference and the look. I haven't really noticed a MPG increase but then again, I don't really don't worry about it too much. I drive for what the traffic calls for.

Our most popular intake for our customers has been the K&N intakes (not the drop-in filter). Most people like the reputation, along with the nice added power gains. I would recomend the Volant, K&N, or Nismo, as they will all help you gain the same amount of power roughly, and all have a good reputation for reliable products.

What do you think of AEM? This serch for a cai is very confusing! I am considering AEM or Volant. AEM because of the dry filter and looks. The Volant because of the close box or actual cai. What do you think? Is there any acutal magazine tests out there ie. power gains & gas milage gains?

I have the Fujita in my truck. Theres a little more low end with the tornado in it and the power feels more linear. I opted to take the tornado out though. I like the way it feels without it. Since your local in San Diego maybe we could meet up and you can check it out.

I thinked you'll be happy with whichever you decide on. In my opinion, they will all give the same result. I myself settle with the AEM due to the dryflow filter. Didn't want to take a chance with the oil fowling up the MAF.

There was a member over at CT that put a "tornado" in his CAI (don't remember which CAI he has). It was way before the Fujita came around, he reported no gain in performance or MPG increased.

My vote is for the AFE. It's the largest of all the filters I believe. The performance gains were very noticeable and it's not too loud.
