Extang Full Tilt

I just ordered an Extang Full Tilt bed cover for my King Cab with the Utilitrac System and should be receiving it within 2 weeks.
It has not been available up until now. I contacted Extang direct to find out when they would have one, they said they would let me know, and they did. It's nice to see there are good people out there supporting their customers.
The new Extang part number is 8700.
I ordered mine from AutoAnything, $308 delivered.

Angry I bought one of these too

...and returned it a week and a half later. The install went fine just like the directions. I noticed on the first time out on the highway the cover balooned way up and was whipping alot behind the rear most bow. Too far in my opinion. Yes I have had other tonneau covers. I thought this one would be the best of all worlds. Tilt up to get to the front of the bed and take it off if you need the whole bed. Anyhow, I called the 800 number on the"call this and don't take the cover back" paper. I was on hold for two periods of 45 minutes and then the message I left was never returned. I sent an e-mail to Amy, a very nice message stating the problems and asking nicely for a solution. After three days I sent another e-mail to Amy. Nothing yet. I sent an e-mail to all of the "talk to us people" and finally got a response. Sorry sir but Amy has not worked here for four months now. WTF? So the solution Extang gave me was to go out and measure the fabric and let them know the dimensions. That way they would be able to tell if the cover was actually too big. Call me crazy but I think there is a method out there to prevent this. It is called QUALITY CONTROLL. So I went out into the driveway and measured the damn cover apart and sent it back. Incase anyone wants to look Amy is STILL listed on thier talk to us, on the Extang page. I can't recommend this company to anyone because thier customer service blows! These covers are not free afterall. I am not asking to have answers on a silver platter, but I think all of us deserve better than this!

Now I am pissed again!
Don't buy these covers!

Here is the actual reply,

Thanks for your interest in Extang. Amy has not been with the company for about 4 months now. The cover will move will you drive. It is the air going over the cab and hitting the cover instead of the tail gate. You can take measurements of the cover from end of material to end on all four sides and we can then check to make sure that the cover is cut to spec.

Thanks,

Mike

I was notified that my cover is on its way from Extang.
Yes, it is designed for the Utilitrak System.
In regards to the Extang cover being a piece of crap, I'll let you know.
Everybody I talked to loved the Full Tilt.

I installed my cover and I am very happy with it.
Fit is perfect, looks great and only minor buffeting with the cover at 70 mph,
at 60 mph, the cover does not move at all.
I'm glad I waited for the Extang.

destro-I don't know what you are talking about.
How can the cover lift if the handles are closed.

foodstamps-Yes, this particular model is made for the Utilitrak System.

The whole cover did not lift, I had the handles closed, as stated in a previous post. Currently I am working witht the company I bought the cover from and Extang. The comany that sold me the cover is trying to figure out what to do here seeing that Extang has a 100% customer satisfaction policy. I spoke with the distributor last week and Extang was at SEMA and was unavailable to give me 100% customer satisfaction. I will try again tommorrow.
