Question Putco Push Up-Tie Downs

Has anyone installed the Putco Push UP-Tie Downs like these http://www.truckxpressions.com/truck...o_tie_down.htmTo install these, I’ll need to cut the OEM plastic bed rails. I’d like to know that the tie downs will fit before I make any cuts.

Re: Putco Push Up-Tie Downs

There is another similar tiedown called Bull Ring Retractable Tiedown that was installed by "Phrt" over on CT. TT will not allow a link to the other forum but Phrt shows the finished pictures there. He also had to cut the plastic panel and, if I recall correctly, he cut the panel along the grooves in the plastic which left the holes a little too large, so you might want to keep this mind when you do the install and cut the plastic inside of the cutout grooves.

I looked into buying the Bull Ring Retractable Tiedown when I first bought my Titan. The Bull Ring tiedown was designed to clamp on the right and left sides of the stake hole but there was not enough room on the outside edge of the stake hole on the Titan for the tiedown to "bite". If the tiedown was modified to clamp on the opposite axis, forward and rearward of the stake hole, then it would would work. You might want to check this out before you buy.

Good luck and post a picture when you're done.

Re: Putco Push Up-Tie Downs

I have the Putco ones and the work and fit great. Jest be careful when you cut the holes as Mentioned in the other post it worked best for me to start from the middle and work out to see where the true hole was.
I bought them from Summitracing.

Re: Putco Push Up-Tie Downs

Silly question, but here goes. Why on earth build build a truck bed with stake holes and then cover them completly with bed rails with no accses other than to cut up your bed rails? seems kinda foolish to me.
Also is there anyway to get the Putco's in black .... not big on chrome personally
could we get a pic or two of them installed on your bedrails bluewrx2001?

Re: Putco Push Up-Tie Downs

Bluewrx2001 - A few questions... Did you get the chrome ones or the black ones? If the black ones, do they scratch easily? How high to they extend when popped up? Is the pop-up mechanism pretty solid? Do they seem kind of flimsy when you tie something to them? Are they basically held on with the 2 screws that go through the top piece? Any pictures? Thanks in advance.
