Liftgate

Hi all - I just wanted to let everyone know about a new product on the market - the TIREGATE. It looks like a bed-mount tire carrier, but instead of having to deal with removing a tire and the carrier every time you want to use the bed of your truck it just swings out. Bed-mount tire carriers have been all the rage on prerunner-style trucks here in So Cal for years now and it's hard to believe someone didn't think of this a long time ago. They're pretty pricey ($980), but very high quality and the cool factor is high. Another neat thing is that you can remount it pretty easily to allow more bed room if you're hauling something like bikes. We're running a special on them right now with free shipping at www.TitanSpecialist.com and I've got a bunch for info on them over there (click the "specials" button at the top of the page). I'd be very interested to hear some feedback from you guys. My initial thought is that they've got a limited market because you mostly see these types of tire carriers on the west coast, but I don't know. Chime in! Thanks! ...Jen
P.S. I don'[t have any photos of one on a Titan, but check out the pics to get a general idea.

Re: Liftgate

I'd be interested if you could make one that'll mount using the utilitrack system and keeps the tailgate on the truck. I dig it, just don't want to give up my tailgate.

Re: Liftgate

Is this the same as the tiregate or a different brand? I saw these a few days ago and must have one.

Re: Liftgate

Is the skidplate included? If not how much extra?

Re: Liftgate

it's audience is pretty select...looks like it only appeals to hardcore offroaders with lifted trucks. the only CONS i see are the open frame not being able to keep certain items from falling out of the bed and it has to be an open bedded. a quick fix could be the use of the utilitrack bed partition with the carrier mounted rearward.

Re: Liftgate

$980.00? A little steep for me. I would think maybe $400 or so, but $980 should come with a 6 gal metal gas tank and the tire.

Re: Liftgate

The title of this thread says "Liftgate." My bad. The skidplate is not included. I just got the info on it - $190 + $20 shipping. Which makes it even pricier, but for those that are going to be putting a bed-mount tire carrier it's definitely a cooler option. I've really been asking around and have had nothing but positive feedback form those that have installed it and those that have it. Thaks for the feedback so far, guys! ...Jen

Re: Liftgate

Bumping this one, I see that they now offer vertical, horizontal and a version that mounts to the hitch reciever.

Re: Liftgate

i was looking for a canvas bed cover the retractable type and stumbled upon these too... didn't look like they were supporting the titan's though, are they?

the manufacture of the canvas bed cover only supported kc's with or without utilitrac.. it was a bit pricey for me right now but might call to see if they have it for the cc's. the bed tent is 200, the canvas was nearing 600.

probably.. i'm guessing that's why most websites have that "call for current catalogue" disclaimer on them.. who wants to update their site daily, shoot, even monthly!

funny note about the canvas cover... apparently the make those for the CC too.. who knew! that's a great thread right there 54!
