Question Anyone with Myron and Davis...

Could I install in my overhead compartments...is it made to fit perfectly in my overhead compartment (last one closest to rear)...I ended up breaking my compartment and was wondering if it would solve my problem to buy the myron and davis instead of a new console...its only the last compartment thats broken...I even had to drill holes in it and run wires to hold it up so when it closed u cant tell...BUT will the myron and davis fix my problem??

The answer to your question is "absolutely"! The Myron and Davis is a perfect fit and is very simple to install. I did the same thing that you are asking. Only now, you can get it with a 9" screen instead of only the 7.8 like I have in mine. I'll find a link for you and post it.

Re: Anyone with Myron and Davis...

Here's the Myron and Davis website. It look like you don't have the rear overhead console, but it should still work because the front dropdown compartments are the same size as the rear dropdown compartment.
Here's some thread you might want to look at also. It's in an Armada but should give an idea of what you're looking at.

Re: Anyone with Myron and Davis...

I already viewed your "break" point. No problem there. The way it works is if you open the door and look at the wall of the recess you can see a seam. That is actually where the two pieces come apart. That entire compartment comes out by removing 4 screws on the top of the compartment. You have to drop the overhead console in order to access them. Once you do, the Myron and Davis unit is a direct bolt up replacement using the same 4 screws. It has its own door and pivot mechanism. Yours will be completely removed.

Re: Anyone with Myron and Davis...

pi3yeargrad. If you like, I'll take some photos for you so you can see. For the purpose of verifying whether or not it would work for you, I'd be willing to ship my compartment that I removed for you to test yours. If my removed compartment will fit in place of your compartment, then the Myron and Davis unit will definitely fit. If you're interested, send me a PM. Also, let me know if you'd like photos of mine.

Re: Anyone with Myron and Davis...

Short.. show us the pics.. I'm interested as well. I didn't realize that the compartment actually came apart. I was thinking on the lines that the compartments were the same size, but one would not interchange with the other as you needed the 4 mounting screws for the M&D setup.

Bring it.. i'm interested.

I'll post the pics tonight but you're confused. The four screws that I speak of cannot be seen until the entire console is lowered. They can only be viewed (accessed) from the top of the console.

Re: Anyone with Myron and Davis...

I'm planning on doing something similar to the Myron Davis, but with out the big $$$, I'm just going to mod the door and fit a aftermarket LCD panel in there. The whole setup should not run more than $300

Someone on here has actually done what you just described and it turned out quite nicely.

Re: Anyone with Myron and Davis...

is that the same guy who used carbon fiber to cover where the screen and compartment meet...or no I think it was an armada who did that but used the same screen...I dont know bout ur guys other compartment I see a lot of people with this smaller compartment not attached to the 3 on the roof (that I got, view last pic up top) is that cuz u guys got a crew cab? Also Id like to do something like that BEFORE I messed up the door and broke the hinges and stuff...Also my doors dont tilt all the much to be good for a screen...theyd be kinda pointing up and not down or straight...Im sure everyones is like this, no? Im sayin like the degree of tilt isnt what I would want if I had a screen back there...

And I didnt understand what u were sayin vshort about the 4 screws but I think I know what ur talkin bout now...did u get my PM?

No it's not the same person who did the CF. Yes some CC have a rear overhead console with the drop down bin. That bin is the same size as the the one one the front roof console (you have 3, one small one in the front and 2 bigger after that). As for it not folding down all the way straight, there's a little tab to the left of it that need to be trim (there's a picture somewhere let me find it).
Here's some thread for you.
just a few pic of my audio/video mods.
http://clubarmada.com/showthread.php...rhead+monitors

I have attached a picture of the tab you need to trim for the storage bin to come down straighter. Sorry I don't have my digital camera with me and had to use a phone camera for the picture.
