Exhaust Tip?

for now, i am thinking of installing just an aftermarket tip to the factory exhaust. i think that i will just cut the factory "tip" down and place a tip over it. has anybody else done this? how did it look? any pics? where did you get the tip at?

i will eventually get a full cat-back exhaust including new Y-pipe, but for now just a tip is all im going to do.....

Several of us have installed the Zoomers Cannon Tip. There are pics posted on this. It costs $130. It looks good on the truck and does cut down on the drone from the exhaust.

Before I got My Zoomers cat-back I had a Magnaflow tip welded onto the fact. tailpipe, exiting the side. It looked a whole lot better than the funky snake tailpipe. It cost 50.00 installed.

i got these chrome dual tips for $50 installed with a flomaster muffler. started with a large echo tip but removed it because vibration inside the cab at 70mph was almost unbearable. these give it a nice rumble.

Before I had my Banks installed, I just went to a local muffler shop and they cut the factory exhaust tip off, put a SS tip on all for $35.

rico, which one did you have? i was thinking of a double-wall tip, but they are not very long. how long was the one you had? do you have any pics? could you see the fact. tailpipe at all? i just want this to look good and not mcguyver'd.....

I had the rolled angle tip. I had them cut the final bend off the tailpipe and gave the tip about 2" of reveal. I gave it to a friend when I got the Zoomers. If I can catch up with them I'll get a pic.

why the hell would you spend 130 bucks on just the tip.what does it add like 1700 hp or somin'

It certainly doesn't rob you of hp, but below are a few examples of why guys are buying Zoomers exhaust and the Zoomers Cannon tip.

i dont have a problem w/ the way my factory exhaust sounds, i just dont like the stupid "tip/turndown". i just want to dress up the tip area and 130 sounds pretty steep for that purpose. having said that, it does look like a nice tip.
