Question Any tonneau cover that works with utilitrack sliding bed extender?

I've looked through lots of threads about tonneau covers. Do any of the covers (roll, hard, folding, sliding) work well with the sliding bed extender? From what I have seen, they all seem to mount at the back of the utility tracks, which is where the sliding bed extender mounts need to be in order to use it in the back. I really like the Advance cover and the Lazer cover, but don't think either would work with the bed extender. Is there a model that I have missed?

Re: Any tonneau cover that works with utilitrack sliding bed extender?

The one I have I beleive is called a low profile truxedo. It locks into the rails so it still interferes with the bed extender. I can still use it but now I have to slide the brackets all the way out, flip the extender, and slide the brackets back in. Functional but not as convenient. I get more use out of the cover than the extender so for me the inconvenince is acceptable.

I have an Access cover which leaves the tracks completely free. There are several threads on this, including photos. If you can't find them, I can look them up for you.

LazerLite is looking for some beta testers for the prototype device they are developing that will allow the use of the bed extender. You have to buy the LazerLite to be considered i would think.

Re: Any tonneau cover that works with utilitrack sliding bed extender?

I have the Undercover and the Bed Extender and I am really happy with it.

Although the mounts for the cover do get installed at the back of the Utilitrac, they do not interfere with the normal position of the bed extender mounts. They sit right next to each other. The only downside is that after the cover is installed, you can no longer slide the mounts for the bed extender all of the way along the utilitrac. This really doesn't bother me because the bed extender can be removed by simply rotating it 90 degrees up and lifting it off of it's mounts.

I highly recommend the Undercover. It looks sharp and is really strong, dry and secure. I stand on top of it to wash the top of the truck or to clear the snow after a storm. Also, I can remove it myself in under 2 minutes. If you are considering a hard tonneau, you should take a look.

On an off topic, I'm a new member here. Been lurking for a while and I really like the site.

Good luck,
Tim

Another vote for the Advance cover. I use the bed extender with it and have no problems. Had it for about a year now
