I've searched the forums, and got a great deal of information to help me to install my DEI 561T. However, I have have 2 questions that I couldn't resolve through my research. I was hoping that some of you who installed the 561T could answer them.
1. Is anybody using the parking light output for verification? If so, how did you wire it into the vehicle? I know where to find the wire, but I am confused as to whether or not to use a relay for this.
2. I was planning to use the lock feature to trigger the remote start (I was going to use 3 pulses). I just want to clarify that I can pick this up at the lock/unlock switch at the driver's door panel. I confused myself as to whether this was for the trigger on the 561T or for the lock/unlock on a remote starter with alarm.
Thanks in advance for all the help. I am trying to do as much work up front so I can minimize the install frustrations to under a case of beer!

ok even though Ive posted already ...the PURPLE and GREEN wire are found inside the CAB at the BCM...those are the unlock and lock and where u can get pulses to turn on. I have mine in 3 clicks also...
for the park light output...man its been a while so someone can chime in but I think its a white and black wire u can find coming out of a plug in the lower dash....I believe...like I say its been a while and Ive been sick (broke out in hives last night...sucks) so Ill try to post more info if I can later...
good luck and maybe someone else can also chime in

Just in case some others here need or want to see it. BTW it's the same for KC or CC on this part of the BCM.

I've got my DEI 561T all hooked up and working, except for the activation trigger. If I touch the wire to the frame twice, the remote start activates and starts the truck. This works perfectly. The issue I have now is that when I tried to connect to the BCM using the violet wire at pin 65, it is constantly triggering the remote start. It will start the truck, but then shut it off quickly. All this is happening while I haven't pressed a button on the remote! I know I am missing something real simple here. Can anybody please point me in the right direction?

Is your DEI set up to lock the doors after starting, and is the same trigger wire used to shut down the engine? If so, here's what may be happening:
1. User pulses door locks
2. DEI sees pulse via activation trigger
3. DEI starts truck
4. DEI pulses door lock
5. DEI sees door lock pulse via same trigger and shuts off engine.
My DEI is the 561T add on remote start. It doesn't have any outputs for door locks. I am trying to use the lock pulse (3 pulses) to activate the starter.
The wires from the bcm are the wires that go directly to the door lock actuators. I think they are actually power feeds to the actuators and not ground triggers. I think you need to go into the door and tap the blue wire for the door lock signal. Did you program it for 3 pulses? It is set at 1 pulse for default so as soon as you touch the wire at the bcm if it is at ground you get a start signal.
I stand corrected. The pulse you are looking for is a +12v pulse and not a ground pulse. See the follow on posts in this thread for the right answer. I'll leave this post here for the wiring diagram, it may help someone in the future.

OK, for the 561T do not go through the trouble of getting the wires in the door...if u need the 3 pulses get from the BCM...u do not need to get the wires from in the door UNLESS ur doing the 561R and ur trying to arm/disarm (lock/unlock)the unit but thats an entirely other clicker and this is the factory key fob...grab from the green or purple wire at the BCM (whichever is the lock its been a while so I forgot which it is)...trust me I have the 561T
we had a good convo about this yesterday and with the guy installing the 561R...BUT this is 561T and u should grab from the BCM...f00dstamps can agree with me here...
ALSO, prgram the unit to work with 3 pulses...cant miss that
...reviewing what u said the choice of at the door or at the BCM is not the prob cuz u SHOULD grab from BCM...let me see...
