Re: aluminum dif.

About a month ago, I was at the dealership in Memphis with the "frozen door" problem and I showed the service writer where the paint was blistering on my recently repainted rear cover. I requested that they upgrade the rear cover to the new snazzy aluminum cover under warrantee and he said he'd have to look into it. I called the next day and he said it was not approved by the powers that be.......they didn't fix my door freezing problem either.

Re: aluminum dif.

I did.
After the idiot service guy laughed at my concerns before leaving on our 3k towing trip, we came home with a smelly, gunky rear diff. After looking at it a couple days, they switched to synthetic. Then after I switched to GRESHAM NISSAN because RON TONKIN NISSAN SUCKS AT CUSTOMER SERVICE, I told the guy I'd feel better with the alum cover. It's a no brainer and should be easy to get them to switch. The reason Nissan switched to the alum is because so many of us had problems, and while dumb, they aren't stupid.

Re: aluminum dif.

Yea....I told them to change it because of the problems with it, and I was tired of bringing in my truck for fixes, and I wasnt going to do it anymore. Not only did I get the cover but I also got them to cover all my vehicle rentals.

Re: aluminum dif.

I told them the rear diff cover was rusty and they put an aluminum one on- no questions asked! It is 100% better than the stock '04 metal cover.

Re: aluminum dif.

You should get the black steel one replaced if you still have it.
