Re: Back up Camera

I have a crimestoppers camera I harvested out of one of a license plate frame. fyi don't get a plate camera as they do not fit the titan/armada bumpers. they are made to mount under something like on a hatch as the top sticks way out. The only time I have any problems with it is if I'm backing up with the sun being fairly low in the sky, this usually results in my auto lights being on and camera adjust for the light so the video is really dark. If you look for crime stoppers plate camera and check the specs of the camera and get something similiar you'll be good. at a minimum you want something 1 lux or greater.

Re: Back up Camera

I am installing this unit.
http://www.etrailer.com/Merchant2/me...Category_Code=

Got it for 200. Look at the bottom of the eTrailer web page and see if it has a related product for 200. They have limited supplies at this price. I tried it out by hooking it to a 12v battery and the quality seemed decent for $200. I am hopefully going to get it installed in the next few weeks if I can make some time. The install looks pretty straightforward. I will put a follow up post after the install.

You can get a rear view mirror w/built in monitor and use that, or put in a visor monitor, then you would have to flip that down. Noone would see either of them.
