Step Rails on Off-Road Package

Just bought an '06 Crew Cab LE w/ off road package. Normally, I wouldn't be inclined to put step rails an anything I might use off road, but in the interests of marital harmony (short wife), I've agreed to put on a set (at least for now). When I was shopping for my truck, I tried to "build" one on the NIssan website, but you can't put step rails on with the off road package. At first I wondered whether there was some type of conflict with skid-plate mounting or something, but suspected that this was simply too uncommon a combination for the factory to deal with on a cost-effective basis.

Sales guy was surpirsed to find it couldn't be done from factory, but seemed certain that it was simply a matter of bolting them to the predrilled holes. Anybody know if this is correct? Also, do the step rails come with brackets/hardware, or do I have to buy those separately?

First, weclome to TT. Congrats on the new pruchase.

If you buy the bed-rails, they come with all necerssary hardware.

I think all Titans are pre-drilled for step rails, so it shouldn't be an issue, unless something has changed with the 06's.

Re: Step Rails on Off-Road Package

Look into the N-Fab bars, if you worry about steps for off-roading the N-fab sit pretty close to the truck.

Re: Step Rails on Off-Road Package

I put the Westin Signature series on mine, they are easily enough to take off if you want to go out for some serious off roading. They have a nice clean look otherwise. just a matter if you want to take them off and put them back on. if its her side, you could always just put one side on, then half the work to take it off.

Great price, and have everything you need except a wrench. first one took a few minutes to figure out how the go on, second one was a piece of cake.

Re: Step Rails on Off-Road Package

I am sure you can get the Off-Road package with step rails. I saw a 2006 on my dealer lot just last week with this combination. Not to mention my 2006 has the O/R package and step rails.

I got an 05 4x4, OR, BT with the rails. I'm pretty sure that it was a dealer add-on.

Re: Step Rails on Off-Road Package

Back then all LE came with step as standard, for 06 they made it an option.
