Lund Stainless steel Bugflector

Just wondering, anyone who has the Lund SS unit, do you have the little squashing rubber grommets that go in your existing holes in your hood? Do you have a problem with them popping out? I opened my hood the other day and it was only held on by ONE grommet plug! I'd love to find a better way to mount this thing. I've remounted it and looked again this morning - two have popped out again (the ones on the ends).

Re: Lund Stainless steel Bugflector

i got mine used and it did the same thing. you can call Lund and they'll send you new hardware without proof of purchase.

mine had popped out for a few months. I just left it like that. I have no damage anywhere. just clanks real loud when closing the hood

Re: Lund Stainless steel Bugflector

Same problem, haven't gone and fixed it yet. seems to not affect the performance or stability. will get around to fixing it at some point.

Re: Lund Stainless steel Bugflector

Mine is a lund as well and I am beginning to get small rust spots on the front of it. They wipe off if I rub them hard while washing it. It has only been on my truck for maybe a month and a half. On top of that, since I put it on I have gotten 3 rock chips on my windshield. The first one sucked but three all in a short amount of time seems odd. When I am driving and it is raining I notice that the shield flicks water on my windshield. I think it is doing the same with rocks.

I've noticed this same phenomenon. I know this probably sounds dumb, but my comprehensive insurance covers broken windshields, but not repainting hoods for dozens of little rock chips... I should know - I put SIX windshields in my Ferd!
