Sorry I know this has been beaten to death, but HID??
I know this has been beaten to death and I did do a search, but I just want to ask a couple of questions? I really like to look of the Blue HID's (bmw style) and I know that is the 6000k or 8000k bulbs, but which ones are brighter but still are blue looking. I know the 6000k's are brighter but do they still look blue or just bright white. I want mine to be bright and be able to see great at night, but still be blue. So does anybody have any regrets of going with the 8000k's over the 6000k's? Or vise versa, does anybody regret getting the 6000 over the 8000? Also what brands did you guys get. I have been looking on ebay and there are a ton of them out there ranging in different prices, so what brand names did you guys go with, and about how much on average do you guys think I should pay, or what did you guys pay? Thanks in advance.

Re: Sorry I know this has been beaten to death, but HID??
For what its worth, I bought my HID kit with 8000k bulbs and they were simply too blue for my taste. It was more of a blue flashlight rather than HIDs. Dont get me wrong, they were still pretty bright, but once I switched over to 6000k I was much more impressed. The light output is better, and there is still that blue'ish hue to the headlight which is what I guess you're looking for. IMO the 8000k is just a bit too ricey for a truck like the Titan.
Save yourself the frustration I had and just get the 6000k, you wont be dissapointed
Re: Sorry I know this has been beaten to death, but HID??
Thanks guys. I actually found a thread on here with all the pictures and the 6000k are actually perfect. They are still blue'ish but are bright as heck. That is what I am looking for. For some reason I was thinking that the 6000k were white, and the 8000k were the blue'ish ones, but once I saw the pictures the 8000k are really blue and the 6000k are the blue'ish. I also saw that most people were getting the JDM kit off of ebay with the free shipping and the coupon (which I hope still is good so I can save a little more) I just wanted to ask before I spent almost $300 on some lights and found out I made a mistake in which ones I want. Thanks again guys. I really appreciate it.

I think 8000 will be too blue for 99% of people. They look "ricey" to me. The aftermarket 6000k are a tad "bluer" than stock BMW.

Quick science lesson...
Light is characterized by its heat, or how "hot" it is. The stars are a good example. The red ones are much cooler than the white and blue ones. The reason is their surface temperature. A red star has a surface temp of about 4000K; this is a low temp as far as stars go. A low temp has a low relative amount of energy, and the color red is the lowest energy color that we can see.
The white and blue stars are the hottest stars, and blue and white are the hottest colors we can see. The hotter the star is the more energy it has, and the whiter the color. The 8000K lights are much more blue than 6000K, but if you go too "hot" then the color starts to drift toward purple. Remember ROY G BIV from grade school?
6000K lights are pretty close to natural sunlight, a nice white color after making through the atmoshpere. That is why many people like the 6000K's better, it is closer to "natural" light
End science lesson...
Now post some pics

Nice lesson. Seems like many of the discount priced aftermarket guys don't report true figures. THe 6000K is actually more like 7000K

Re: Sorry I know this has been beaten to death, but HID??
4300k is actually the closest to sunlight.
6000k is the upper limit of what you should go with.
More science would be that the higher K you go in color temp, the more scattered the light is and therefore the less usable light you have.
4100K-4300k HIDs (which are what BMWs/acura/etc use) put out about 3200 lumens of usable light (not totally lost to scatter). By the time you get to 6k you are looking at roughtly 2900-3000 lumens. 8K is even worse.
Definitely go with 6k as an upper bound if you want the blue-ish hue.

JDM has the correct connectors. I have seen at least one other brand that doesn't come with the correct plastic detent lock connector such that you have to just jam the naked spade terminals into the OEM connector.
Re: Sorry I know this has been beaten to death, but HID??
Got a question. I was reading an older thread in the forums about HID's and they said that the Titan was too tall for the hid's and that they should be retrofitted instead of plugging a kit into the stock housing. Which is better the projectors or the stock reflectors. And also is there a way to aim the lights so as not to blind anyone? I am thinking of purchasing a kit and just want some feedback before I do.

The HID's just replace your stock lights. You are not changing the hight of the lights, so you HID's will be aimed where you stock headlights are aimed. There is a way to adjust your headlights if you would like. It is in your manual or you can do a search on the site here and you will find a thread on it. There are 2 screws that you need to adjust. People have to do this after they lift there truck to bring down the lights, to make up for the lift. Hope this helps.

First: HID projectors are always better, period. Better cutoff, better use of light by being much better focused. No questiong.
Second: I had them in my Titan and did not re-aim my headlights and it was fine, I never got flashed once, but if you have an aiming concern they can be pointed down as someone said.
