Re: Adding Steering Wheel Audio Controls

if you order from nissan parts cheap. com, and you have a nissan titan, do not put your VIN in with the order. They will not sell it to you if your VIN does not call for it.

Re: Adding Steering Wheel Audio Controls

I can confirm that the audio controls will work in a 2005 KC. I just installed it in mine. Thanks for the step by step instructions by Elbo, it took all of about 45 minutes. The only problem I had was getting the airbag screws to line up so I could put it back together.

Re: Adding Steering Wheel Audio Controls

Will they work on a XE with the single disc radio. It has been confirmed on all other models except that one. No one has tried it on that model yet that i know of.

Re: Adding Steering Wheel Audio Controls

Add another Member whu thanks you Elbo, fro your time and patience to take pictures and do a step by step write up of this install. I made it into a word *.Doc, copy and pasting with pictures, then printed it out at work, so I could have a handy full color refference while doin it.
Like Mach 1 my truck used a T20 and T10. The T9 fit but T10 fit perfectly snug, T25 was just way too big.
I just wish Nissan would have made the steering wheel with access panels on back of wheel. It would ahve made things so much simpler for the service deptartment also.
Cheers Elbo
Also of note SickWhip and TitanJim for doin groundwork so that we knew it can be done.

Add another XE that has OEM Stock parts that were not options from Nissan to the list

Wife did have one funny coment about it. "Thats just great more buttons for you to paly with while your driving just what I need." Said in a sarcastic but loving tone that only a loved one can muster.

Re: Adding Steering Wheel Audio Controls

man i really want to do this, but never tried anything like that before. how do you know for sure your stearing wheel is in the right place. and that the air bag wont blow up in your face? or properly work when your done. will this hurt the warranty?

Re: Adding Steering Wheel Audio Controls

I just finished the install. My fiance got me the controls for Christmas. Elbo, thank you so much! If it wasn't for this awesome write up with pics, I would have never even attempted it. A couple extra tips: It definately is nice to have someone help you so they can feed the wires through and hold the spool. Also it is very important to mark the position of the steering wheel. I had didn't mark it and had to re-align the wheel. The way that I marked it was to leave the sleaves that are behind the wheel on and use scotch tape to line up the top of the steering wheel with the column, when the tape lined up, the wheel was aligned.
