Step Rail CC 05 to 06 Titan CC??

Im New hear !! Great Forum, very helpfull and also a 2 week old Titan Owner.

My quest for help.........

Bought Step rail that came off a 05 CC and will be trying to install on a 06 CC.

The hardware that it came with composed of 6 nuts which I believe goes to
the existing post.

Do I need to punch the cut out on the truck to put the bolt which I don't have ?

or

The 6 nuts is enough to hold the step rails?

Thanx in advance!!

No there should be studs sticking out and a couple of holes. Its kind confusing to line up you have to make sure you have the right one line up with the right side as there are some extra set of studs and hole that you won't use. I'll shoot a picture for you.

Re: Step Rail CC 05 to 06 Titan CC??

Some pictures. The first picture shows the stud and below it is a cap that you need to pry off to get to the treaded hole. the next picture shows my last support in the back with the extra stud in front of it on the drivers side. I have a Crew Cab so a KC maybe different. So when mounting them from the front the first to sets of stud/hole get brackets skip one and then a bracket on the last set. Don't tighten everything tight just loose mount the brackets and then the bars onto the brackets this will help you make sure you have the bracket on the right sid of the step bar. And be careful when doing the final tightening as I broke the stud off on one of mine and on another set of rails I actually snapped a bolt head off. These studs and holes are on the body just under the doors on the underside of the truck not the frame as you might assume.

Hope this help and makes it clear as I had to put them on about 3 times the first time till I got it right it was confusing.

Re: Step Rail CC 05 to 06 Titan CC??

You should have 6 nuts and 6 bolts(3 each side) as the bolts go into the holes If you got these used the other guy mave kept the bolts since he probably didn't have plugs for the holes. No worries the bolt thread matches the nuts you have so just take the nuts to the hardware store and pick some up an inch long should be good I don't know what the thread is but it is metric I'm sure I'd get some flat and lock washers also as the oem bolts had a washer built into them.
