Got my AMP Powersteps from PRG (yep, The Man) yesterday, installed them today. Supposed to take 2-3 hours, but took me over 5 with all the head scratching and flailing I did. The instructions pretty much suck, but the tech support is pretty good when you can get an engineer on the phone. Several pieces of hardware were missing, so I had to make a trip to Lowes for replacements. There are a few things I would change to make it better/more user friendly, but overall it went on pretty easily. If I had to do it again, it'd probably take only 2 hours.
They work very well, and extend down several inches further than the OEM steps, which is what I was going for.
I have more detailed info and pics if anyone's interested.
PRG gave me a great deal. Contact him for pricing, he's got a few more available.
They tap into the doors' plunger switch wiring, either behind the kick panels (per the instructions) or inside the white channel under the door sill on each side (this is where I tapped in).
The step surface is several inches lower than the OEM steps. Should make the Boss happy.
I had a snag where I didn't secure the motor well while going for my rachet and it fell on my face. did some damage and took a quick trip to urgent care. It didn't stop me though! Got the mofo installed and working.
I'd have to say that it's not a lot of parts to install but it's just tedious to do.

thanks PRG for delivering my steps.

I installed these on my truck two weeks ago. Went online to download the latest version of the instructions at www.amp-research.com before I started. Took me just under three hours on my back in my driveway. I think it is an extremely intelligent design. What amazes me the most is how quiet the motors are and how for they go under the truck. They really are awesome!!!
been a while. you gotta post pics of your change from lowered to lifted.
the site shows the old instructions. Did you end up drilling and stuff? the latest steps don't involve any of that now.

do the POWERSTEPS install using the the same locations of the STOCK side step bars or do you have to drill all the holes for it
the reason why i ask is becasue on my rear mounting brakets on my crew cab the BOTTOM bolt was OVER TORQUED by my friend and broke off so i have no bolt there on the bottom mount but the TOP bolt is still there
there's a bolt thread on top where a nut goes on and a hole for a bolt in the bottom to screw in. this leaves the hinge w/ 2 openings still so you could drill and mount more bolts to be more secure.
