My full coverage fender liners in.

Got a call today and after almost five months of me on my service manager and him on the district rep. Nissan is going to reimburse me to install full coverage fender liners on my 05 SE. As most of you know the SE and LE have cut fender liners and water can go right into the air box, not a problem for XE owners. I have to pay up front and have them install and Nissan will reimburse me, with the normal 2-4 wk check issue but they are actually paying to correct the mistake. Manager has all the information and forms ready to go. Yes, this and Detroit Locker has re/released the TruTrac third member for our trucks, oh this is getting good.

Re: My full coverage fender liners in.

I haven't even looked at the fender liners that closely. I will now. Thanks for the heads up.

Re: My full coverage fender liners in.

So what exactly is required? If you have an LE, do you just need to order XE fender liners?

I doubt Nissan will pony up for the rest of us SE/LE owners.. I wish they would though.

Re: My full coverage fender liners in.

All I know is my service manager kept on the rep till he said ok. It's a valid issue for a valid problem. There was really no way for the rep to talk his way out of it when the tech's and service manager are behind you on a valid issue. And yes it should be a TSB. Should have a pic by Thursday PM with Nissan part #'s. When I do get the check that will get posted also.

$37.54 each. Not too bad, if this is correct thing to order. I suppose you could just get the left one.

Re: My full coverage fender liners in.

Yea, I told him the trade motion costs but if I wanted Nissan to cover everything the Techs had to install both. So I'm paying for the liners and labor up front. The issue was getting the correct part #. First set came in for the SE/LE. Nissan's parts breakdown now shows three sets of part #'s for the liners on the parts department CD.

I'll wait for you to post the correct part nos. Maybe there are some clips or something else required in addition to the liners.

Re: My full coverage fender liners in.

As far as all the plastic hanger clips they said they had those are stock parts kept there. Dropped it off this morning after I got off duty, said it should be done by noon. The Tech I like to work on mine already had two vehicles on the rack, from the day before, and needed to finish that up before he started on mine. Said the swap out is only an hour. The pain is the 2-4-6 weeks for the check, but SM said I get copies of all the paperwork. Saw an 04 4X4 offroad in for a rear end. Got to talk to him and told him about TT, and the rearend threads here. Said he just started searching online when the rearend started giving him issues. Had a magnaflow and an AFE intake on it also. Hopefully we'll see him here soon.

Re: My full coverage fender liners in.

This could be a serious issue! Why are they different between the LE's and the XE's? Does anyone know?

I'd like more info on this also, I will have to go look tonight has anyone take a pic of this yet?

Thanks!

Re: My full coverage fender liners in.

Well, Nissan has replaced my SE/LE fender liners with full coverage XE liners. Tech had no issues installing them. Here's the correct part #'s from my invoice.

1 63841-7S000 Protector
1 63840-7S000 Protector

Plus, I had to pay one hour flat rate. This is now on to Nissan DPSM for re-imbursement.

Also on my statement was, "customer states vehicle can take water into airbox when using 4WD in reverse."

And yes it should be a TSB, but they stepped up and changed mine out.

Ah found the thread with pics hope this helps,
http://www.titantalk.com/forums/tita...ghlight=airbox

Almost forgot to add, I now feel safe doing the air box mod and removing the "water droplet deflector".

Re: My full coverage fender liners in.

why in the hell would the XE's have different fender liners than the SE and LE?

Is nissan on crack?

And why did they cut the ones on the se anyway? I noticed that on mine and was wondering what the heck?
