When closed, the jacks were pushing up on the back edge of the first big panel (the edge almost in the middle of the bed). Like I said, it made it bow up, when I pushed it down, it would bow up again. It happened with the tailgate down too, so I know it wasn't the pressure of being closed that was causing it. I know it shouldn't matter, but when I took them off, everything closed much easier, and it didn't bow up. Thanks for all the tips, I'll just run it without them for a while, probably indefinitely.
are u sure the panel is latched down? wouldnt the latches keep it from bowing up?
Yeah, its latched, but my panels have some up and down play, even when closed. I drove it to work today without the jacks, and it was much better, no rattling. It was also raining hard, and very little water got in, which was nice. I too saw some water in my drain pipes, so they must do something!
well, i dont know what to say. My shocks havent been a problem. Maybe yours are to strong?
Maybe your latches are in different postions? It seems like the latch placement was almost an afterthought. Theres no latch on the second panel, and some of them you have to reach farther under to unlatch than others.
have you figured out how the water gets into the drain tube? with the big weather strip over the rail, I dont know....
did u just let your tubes hang or did you drill a hole for them?
I have them just hanging, but pointed to the front of the bed. I know there is drain space up there, cause I could see light from my flashlight on the ground through the bed. Seems to work well, after today's monsoon in Houston.
I am looking at the Bacflip. I had the Nissan tonneau and it was awful. After 2 years the zipper rotted out. Can the Bakflip be easily removed if you need the whole bed? I know it will fold up and cover the back window but can it be removed when necessary? When I go on vacation I need the whole bed but I also need to be able to see out the back window. Thanks for the info.

Yes, it can be removed by removing two bolts and lifting it off. Although, since it folds up completely, you shouldn't have to very often. When it is folded up completely, you lose maybe 5-6 inches at most, and can put stuff up against the front of the bed under it any time as well.
Just Curious...Is it the clamps or the rails that interfere with the Utilitrack??? If it is just the clamps how difficult do you think it would be to modify them/fab some so that they could be bolted into some springnuts in the track? I would really like to see some pics of how this mounts if anybody can get some. thanks

Got my Bak Flip from truckgadgets, com for $559.00 but I was told a price was going to take it to $599,00 delivered. So far so good. Intall took about 1/1/2 hors but I could do another in about half of the time. Very litle water leagage and i think it looks really good because it is flush with the bed caps.
