traction bars...

Has anybody fabricated their own traction bars? It seems easy enough.

I 100% plan on fabricating my own. we have a structural steel yard and i gave a whole trailer full of scraps to my buddy who owns a machine shop and he said i could use his shop whenever i wanted.. im trying to find someone with the prg traction bars, to give me detailed dimensions, if not i might cruze down to the shop that lifted my truck and snag the dimensions off other traction bars. I plan on starting these soon, so if anyone could get me some dimensions i would appreciate it! thanks, - greg m

Of course, I will take all the measurments tomorrow so you can rip off an honest companies product.

im not going to sell them, im only making one set and i wanted to try something different than the others i saw, not that theres anything wrong i just wanted to give it a try and i needed something to start with.

If you want something different then why do you need all the specs of the PRG bars?

i wanted to know the length of them, i know thats pretty standard with most of the traction bars on the market. im not using the same joints nor am i taking the same approach with the brackets, and why not build them if i have all the materials and tools at my disposal?? im not trying to rip off anyones product, i just like fabricating things on my own. but dont worry about any dimensions, ill figure out all that stuff when i get underneath the truck, sorry if i came off like i was trying to rip someone off. ill most likely post some pics when im done.

Well now, the real question is... can you fabricate some similar quality bars, with similar durability / stability, AND at a cost effective price?
