Re: Scangauge II

Wow these new ones look much classier than the old ones, and at $169 shipped it's a bargain. I really like them because they tell you miles-to-destination (for us non-Nav owners), which is important because of how screwy our gas tanks/reserves are. I really need to get one!

Re: Scangauge II

i adjusted my speed readout on the Scangauge. i used my laptop and GPS to to synchronize. i had to adjust the speed by 4% higher (i.e. when my speedo read 40, i was actually going 42). in that case, i'm actually getting better MPG. suspension and tire-wise, i'm stock. my tires have 11k miles of wear on them.

Re: Scangauge II

I just tweaked mine between Carson City and Las Vegas. The speed was off by 2-3%. Using the milemarker way was a pain. Using the GPS was a slam dunk.

I have to watch the MPG for awhile as it says I am getting 20 mpg across the desert. I've only calibrated it through one tank but if true, WOW!

The SG 2 is much smaller so the option is much greater as in where to mount. As for connecting it, it's very easy. You just plug it into the OBD2 port located under the dash by your right knee. No other wire need to be run.

OBD2 port

I have the older Scan Guage which is bigger, so I took it apart and did a custom install.

Re: Scangauge II

Just ordered mine, 7-10 backorder.

Also learned that they are about 15 miles from me, I always figured they were in Kali or something.
