Dealer emblem

I am sure this is a repost but I was looking to take off the the dealer emblem of the gate. Just wondering whats the best way to do this and to see if anyone has had problems doing this.

use some fishing line or dental floss to get behind it. Heating it a little w a hair dryer will help male it easier.

Re: Dealer emblem

Have you recently bought it? If so make the dealership remove it, thats what I did. Don't assume this risk unless you have to. When I told my salesman I expected them to do it when I came in to pick up my plates he acted put back but when I actually went in, the guys I talked to (another sales guy and the sales manager) didn't give me any grief about it. I actually found a site that had an invoice you can fill in to present them a bill for advertising, lol. I considered using it, because it makes a very stong point, but it was overkill.

Re: Dealer emblem

Anytime I buy a new vehicle that is the first thing to come off. Its easy depending how old it is. It will just peel off. Unless it is a raised emblem then the floss trick will do it.

Re: Dealer emblem

Just use a hair dryer, and after about 30 seconds, the corners will turn up. Keep the heat blowing and slowly pull it off from the corner.

Re: Dealer emblem

lol...the dealership where I got mine is Charlie Clark Nissan and his face is real big on all his advertisements...lol...so people drive off the lot with his picture on their cars...on the license plates and on stickers...I made sure to tell em while doing the paper work (before I took the truck off the lot) NOT to put anything like that on there...I said it was nothing personal but if someones face was gonna be on my truck it would be mine

Re: Dealer emblem

I feel the same way about dealers stickers. Take them off. They are not paying me to advertise. I feel zero loyalty to a dealership. Most times it is a hassle to deal with them. If I had a good experience, I'll tell someone who asks me. When you get lousy work performed in the service dept., that will really kill the chances of getting a compliment from me.

Flight Test is Don Davis the dealership you are referring to?

Re: Dealer emblem

I used my finger nail and a little glass cleaner to clean the glue off. Had the dealership remove V8 TITAN off both front doors too. One was really uneven so I had them both removed. This took an act of congress to get the glue off the doors because they didn't remove the gule the day they pulled the letters off. Acted as it I wouldn't notice this black gule left on.

No, it is not. I won't go near Don Davis Nissan. I have bought a lot of new vehicles in my life. Sooner or later, a particular service department will f**k something up. I pay good money for the things I have in life. Mommy and Daddy did not buy this truck. The mechanics must be rushed to get a job done. They will do something stupid; not thinking about what they are doing. Just plain careless. I'll get off the soap box now.

Re: Dealer emblem

In my area, the dealerships are not only putting the emblem on the trunk or tailgate but are also putting 2" vinyl letters on the rear window advertising the dealership.
Fortunately, my dealership only used a transparent sticker which came off as soon as I arrived home. The license frame stayed on until the metal perm. tags came in (the temps are plastic coated cardboard) then it went in the trash with the temp tag.
I paid enough for the truck...let them spend their money they made off of me in their full page color ad in the Sunday paper...
I don't feel sorry for them...watch "King of Cars" to get some more back-ground on car salesmen

Re: Dealer emblem

I;m new but I'm with you guys. I always pull the dealer emblem. I was fortunate on my Titan that they had not applied one yet when I bought it and I requested they not put one on. Salesman said "it's your truck, we'll do it your way"

I thought I was in the monority on this so was good to hear others feel the same.
