Re: Bug Sheild On Or Off

Bug shields in general make a truck "look" nose-heavy.....I'd never ever ever in a million years put on of those hideous looking trinkets on my pretty truck.

Welcome to TitanTalk, Vance.....I didn't notice that it was your first post walla-go.....don't let my quirky tastes' influence what you like or dislike....but I will admit, I once rated myself as one of the most tasteful people within the main 48 States.

Dont listen to B. He has 4 of them on his truck 1 on the front, 1 on the back, and the other 2 under each window. Leave it on!!

Careful B this could (and shouldnt) turn into one of those crazy threads with that statement!!

Leave the bug shield on. If I could afford one I would have one to!

Re: Bug Sheild On Or Off

Bug shields are probably an inappropriate name for these devices. In truth, they are more of a rock-stone deflector / paint saver.

x2. I think bug shields look tacky. And I don't see how in the heck they keep bugs or flying debris from hitting your truck. I've got some small knicks in my hood that I can tell would have still happened even with a shield.

Re: Bug Sheild On Or Off

I'd personally rather have the front of my hood beat to p*ss by flying road debree than stick a crappy looking shield onto the nose of my truck.....but hey, that's just me.

Re: Bug Sheild On Or Off

If you live in an area where they sand the roads in the winter, the bug shield protects the nose of the hood from getting sandblasted. You can probably achieve the same result with the 3M clear bra film.

Re: Bug Sheild On Or Off

I don't like they way they look, but they are without a doubt a paint-saver. I have about 200-300 chips/pits on my hood that are all in the region where the bug shield would be.
