Anyone ever unbolted & removed rear seat?

Hey,

I'm thinking about unbolting and removing the rear seat in my King Cab and storing it in my garage until I need it. Anyone else ever removed it, even temporarily?

I've had it 2 years, 40,000 miles and no person has ever ridden back there. I do a lot of dog transports for rescue groups, and it's hard to get the larger crates inside because of the distance between the center armrest console lid and the bottom of the seat cushion folded up.

A bunch of people have had the seats out for stereo installs.

Re: Anyone ever unbolted & removed rear seat?

Just be careful not to strip the threads out. I fudged up the threads on one of the attachment holes and the bolt won't go all the way in right anymore. I know how to thread a damn bolt without stripping it so I have no idea how it happened. Just be careful. Has anyone else had trouble with the threads on those bolt holes??

Re: Anyone ever unbolted & removed rear seat?

Thanks for the warning! I've heard of others on here who stripped bolts when removing the Utilitrack rails.

I removed my entire interior when I installed dynamat. The back seats are very simple to remove, and no stripped threads here.
