Ordered Recon White Lightning

Well after seeing a Line of Fire LED bar in person again it renewed my interest in buying one. I thought it looked pretty slick, and certainly stood out to any vehicle behind it. I saw the ad for Recon in Truckin, and remembered the "white lightning" version that also integrates the white back up LED's. I ordered it today, and can't wait til it gets in....(first thing I have bought for my truck in ages).

Here is the link:

http://www.reconaccessories.com/Line...gate%20Bar.htm

Also if you add the promo code from the ad in Truckin you get a 10% discount.

Re: Ordered Recon White Lightning

Thought about that myself, let me know how the install goes. Your supposed to be able to hook it into the trailer harness.

Re: Ordered Recon White Lightning

Either hard wire it or buy an adapter from what we have (7 pin?) down to 4 pin

Re: Ordered Recon White Lightning

Keep us updated Marc...I'd especially like to know if the reverse function actually provides decent light. I've been trying to think of a way to add reverse lights to my trailer (16' utility trailer) and this may be just the ticket if I can hard wire it into my trailer somehow!

No problem guys, I will keep you posted. I just need to go find the adapter for the trailer haness, and when it gets in I will hook it up. I will try to get pics up as well.

Re: Ordered Recon White Lightning

Got it in, and installed it today...installation was a PITA...not that it was difficult, but the space that you need to install it is so tight. My opinion is that if you are going to install one take off the tailgate for an easier time. I would have, but I was solo and didnt want to wreck anything.

Overall it is cool looking...the LEDs are faster in response time than the incandesants. The back up whites are a nice, different touch over the usual all red. Build quality appears to be good, and packaging was perfect...shipping container was very sturdy so you shouldnt have to worry about damage in shipping. I am going to take pictures, but have to get a hold of a digital camera. Will post as soon as I can.

Re: Ordered Recon White Lightning

thanks for the update! Please let us know when you get a chance to determine if the white actually helps for reverse at night. The white is the only reason I would like to put this on my trailer for reverse, so I'm really curious as to the light output...thanks again!

I tried it out tonight and it was not really dark enough to see if it made a difference...the one thing you have to remember is that if you are braking as you back up the reds are lit up as well...obviously. I don't think they would throw as much light as if you actually installed back up spot lights.

Re: Ordered Recon White Lightning

I just bought my truck about 2 weeks ago, and the previous owner put an LED bar between the tailgate and the bumper. Guess I have this mod?...... All to say, despite the fact that it is subtle, I think it could possibilly be my favorite mod on the truck. Really stands out when it lights up. Highly suggest it to anyone who is interested.
