I have been replacing all of my bulbs in the truck with LED's (mostly interior), and I was wondering if anyone knows what the 3rd brake light bulb # is. I have searched everywhere, yes even in my manual, and have yet to find it. If anyone knows it would help me a ton. Thanks guys!
I oversee a fleet of trucks, my answer when a guy has a burned out bulb and wants to know the type...take out the old one (as you have to anyway) and then you will know...
Just do it just before going to the store and you'll have it ready to install at the store and able to test it right away. No mistakes.
Many bulbs aren't easily found in the books unfortunetly. Great idea, what your doing, some have had problems with fit of LEDs, or Fast Flashing due to lesser load. How has your experience been??

I have the same question.

Well, I worked on this for a little bit today, and two one step forward and one step back. The brake light bulb # is a 921. However, it's a B**ch to get out. There are two nuts that hold the housing in that you have to access from the roof in the back of the cab. For some reason I can't get those nuts out. I have copied what is says about it from the service manual:
However, it doesn't say what size the nuts are. I think you'll need a deep socket, but it's something smaller than a 10mm. Anyway, the bulb is a 921, but to take the housing out, you have to get those nuts off.
Let me know!

Thanks a bunch for finding that out for me. Ya it looks like a real pain to get it off, but i am sure that i can figure it out with a bit of work. Thanks again for finding that though.
As far as having any problems with it i have had none. I replaced my map light, dome light, door lights, and license plate lights, all with led bulbs. The site that i have been getting them off of is vleds.com, and i have been nothing but happy with them. They put out great light, its very original, and they are probably less of a draw than the stock ones because leds are so efficent. I will take a few pics when i get a chance and show you guys! Thanks again!

I thought I updated this thread. I was able to get it off pretty easily once I found the right size of socket to use. YOu need a DEEP socket 8mm or 7mm. It's really easy.

Yeah, I have replaced my back-up bulbs and cargo lights, and front turn signals, and I'm not happy with the actual brightness, but the color is nice. I think I'm going to just put some normal cool blue lights in there? What do you think?
