Sacramento area Body Painting

I am wanting to get my rear bumper painted and I am curious what is a fair price to expect to pay? I got a rough quote over the phone for $450 and that seems ridiculous to me. How much did it cost for folks that have had painting done? Anyone know of a good place in the sacramento/Roseville/Norcal area to talk to or get a quote from? Thanks for the help!

Re: Sacramento area Body Painting

Come on now guys, no need to be shy. I called maaco and got a quote for $150. That seems more like it, anybody got paint jobs from Maaco before that cares to share their experience?

Re: Sacramento area Body Painting

All I can tell you about Maaco is that someone told me never to go there. When I went to an auto body shop to replace my front bumper after someone backed into it, they gave me a price of about $800, and I know the bumper itself costs less than $400. I would check a couple of different places before deciding.

Have you tried hitting up any of the college / university auto or paint shops? Some of the "classes" are ready to do projects, as long as you pay for the supplies...

Back in '04 a was hit by a hit and run driver, and had a place in Rancho Cordova, do the work - Artistic Collision Center. Probablay not the cheapest place, but excellent body and paint work. The Nissan dealer recomended them, and said they did all of their touch up, and ding work.

Don't know if they still exist but their number was 916 638-3138
.

Re: Sacramento area Body Painting

Thanks fellas, I ended up giving Maaco a try. For $150 it seems worth the "risk".
