I have a pair of 6" offroad foglights I want to installed behind the grilled(sp) but theres a plastic cover thats seems to be there to direct air to radiator. I have attached a picture off were I want to install the lights.
if any one has done this mode or remove their grilled before pls hooked me up with some instructions.. thank you
Re: help installation fog lights behind grilled!!!
I think you'll have to dremmel or cut it out. I installed a one piece billett grille, but before I did, the mfr sent me the wrong one, the 3 piece one. We toyed around with maybe installing it cuz it did look sweet, but we found that you'd have to cut out all the honeycomb sections. I'm almost positive it's a one piece grille.

You can cut out two cardboard piece the size and shpe of the 2 side grill, tape it over the grill and drive around, see if that have any effect on the coolant temp. before you cut anything. Goodluck.

Re: help installation fog lights behind grilled!!!
i finally go to try doing this mode let tell you that the space behind the grilled is real small ...theres probably less than 3.5 in of space I try to fit my light different ways but the grilled wouldn't closed. the only location behind the grilled my light would fit it was in the middle part but I would have to relocate the horns and I didnt like the way it look. If some one knows a set of fogs 6" preferely but thin let me know cause I really like the way they look back there... SOrry

I tried this already-no affect. I was thinking of doing the same thing.
Shouldn't have any effect-the pullers at the bottom draw the majority of the air into the system.

^^^That's been done. I've seen at least one pic of someone's ride here on the boards who did that. I don't recall who it was, but I thought it looked pretty good. I would personally prefer the lights a little higher, like where Dova is trying to put them. I'm interested in what this will look like if Dova or anyone else gets it done.

And another thought. If you do get them on the two outside smaller grilles, I'll bet you could send a template to DunderDan and get him to custom cut one of his grilles to put around it. He CNC's his stuff I think, so I bet it wouldn't be that hard for him.

like Carbeaux mention thats been done, now I senn a member that did custom cut out on the lower grille and I thought that looked very cool, dont remember who?
Ill keep you guys updated if I try it again with a different set of lights...
Re: help installation fog lights behind grilled!!!
Gotcha. So the photoshop pic you posted was REALLY what you're going after. I see now! You'd lose a little in light output passing it through the grille itself, and the more "downward" you try to aim the light, the more light output you'd lose, but it'd acheive the effect. Keep trying!
