May be a silly question, but I've never used an exhaust clamp before.
Anyhow, I got an SS exhaust pipe end, clamp on style. instead of the bolts that hold it on, the guy said to use an exhaust clamp.
Anyhow, I wasn't sure how they went on. The clamp is like the one here:
http://www.imperialinc.com/items.asp?item=0716500
But it's for 3".
Anyhow, I tried putting the clamp on the end of the SS pipe end, but good luck tightening that down enough to crush it onto the pipe.

(there is maybe 2mm of gap)
So I thought maybe the two edges at the opposite side of the end are supposed to be on each side of the end and pipe. So I did that and it seemed to work ok.
Is that right? Basically the metal u bracket is on the SS pipe end, and one lip of the other end is on the pipe and the other on the SS pipe end.
I suppose if that doesn't work (I can see it rattling loose maybe) i could just drill holes in it and bolt it in there.
Thanks!
