Eco-Systems Fuel filter

Greetings Ladies, Gentlemen and all others, this is my debut post to Titan Talk or any other forum so be gentle please. Let me preface this with a little history before my question. After considerable shopping, research and evaluation of all the available full sized pick-ups I decided to purchase my Titan. I made the deal and picked up my truck with 151 miles on the clock on March 2nd then on March 3rd received the news that; as one of Uncle Sugar's most valued employees I was entitled to an all expenses paid 365-day vacation to lovely Afghanistan with departure by March 24th for training en route. I bored you with this tale so you'd understand that I've only driven something like 1,000 miles in the truck since I brought it home. While I love the truck I did experience what many of you already knew and what I had reasonably expected. This is not a 40 mpg economy car. All this led to my trying to research ways to boost the economy of the truck if possible. The search led me to; among other products, The ECO-Systems "fuel filter". My query; at long last, is "Has anyone on this forum used this product and if so what were your results?" Also if any of you have personal experience with other products or modifications that gave tangible improvements to your gas mileage I'd like to hear about those as well. I'll be here in Afghanistan for another 10 months at least so I'm going to have plenty of unocuppied time to review your responses.

Thanks
DT

Re: Eco-Systems Fuel filter

Doom, as one of the leaders in obtaining high miles per gallon out of a Titan, I'm sad to inform you that driving style is the only method that has shown CONSIDERABLE gains....the problem seems to be that stomping on the gas pedal of the Titan is so dang much fun that you will not be able to control yourself....so just give in, and keep on filling up.....I on the hand am very old and feeble....I drive slower than a blue-haired old lady....there is never anywhere that I need to be nor any paticular time that I'm supposed to be there.....my best documented fuel milage is 20.54 mpg for a tank of gas that I burned on a leisurely trip malandering across the country.....

Re: Eco-Systems Fuel filter

I hear exactly what you'e saying Mr. B. I have been known to to exceed the recommended speed limit from time to time so I'll have to kill Mr. Hyde or learn to love the fuel pump. Too bad I don't get to decide any time soon. My beautiful baby is languishing in storage right now and I experience daily wishes that I was behind the wheel.

Re: Eco-Systems Fuel filter

The Eco System work but is not for everyone. IF you drive alot or plan on keep your truck for awhile you will see savings. If you don't drive much or don't plan on keeping the truck for more than a couple of years, you won't realized the savings. It's a long term deal. The people with Eco3 report a gain any where from .5 to 1.5 mpg some see no gains at all. As for me the gain in MPG is more evident hwy driving as oppose to city.
BTW welcome to TT

Thanks for the input Baseballfanz. It sounds likethis is at least a product to consider. BTW I've been visiting TT on and off for quite some time and have always been curious about where you got your engine cover.

It was painted for me by another member, Desmo748s. Have not seen him post here for awhile though.

Re: Eco-Systems Fuel filter

honestly, it's done nothing for me. but don't say that on the 'other' forum, it's a no-no. They love it and will die defending it.

BBF does have one sweet engine cover, I'm looking to do mine but just can't decide what yet.....

Re: Eco-Systems Fuel filter

If it was a so easy as to throw on a $300 item to increase the MPG by 1 all the companies would do it to increase their EPA stickers. Especially given the big demand for increased MPG in all cars. In my opinion it is snake oil.

Re: Eco-Systems Fuel filter

A member on clubarmada who makes frequent long round trips monthly tested it and saw a 1mpg increase he had 5000 miles of with and without the ECO to base the results on. I have one and have not seen any increase that I could directly attribute to the ECO. I drive 80% city driving so a lot of my time is spent in idle. This is something that I think you can switch between vehicles so it doesn't have to go with the vehicle when you sell it.

Re: Eco-Systems Fuel filter

What REALLY is important is your service to our country. Kill as many Taliban MoFo's as you can. God Bless you, stay safe and come home to friends, family and one Titan.

As far as this ECO thing goes, as mentioned before, snake oil. Any gains are negligible in my book. There is no one "magic bullet" to achieve great improvements in fuel economy. Maintain your vehicle and keeping proper air pressure will help you get the best MPG. Light gas pedal pressure helps but is hard to do in this truck. JMHO.

Re: Eco-Systems Fuel filter

wow! it's funny how different the comments are here vs. the "club".... and by some of the very same members! I tried discussing the cons of this thing over there and it did not go well to say the least.....

UPDATE!... Be careful if you choose to discuss this on the "other" forum. I've actually got crazy BEN calling me NAMES & threatening me in OVER 30 EMAILS IN ONE DAY!!! Unreal.....

Hello my name is Ben Talamantez also known as ECOTAZ. I want to say THANK YOU for being there for us and May God keep you safe. My oldest son is a Tech Seargent @ Nellis AFB in Nevada, and I have nothing but respect for you men and women serving our country!
If you will please send me your mailing address I will personally make sure that you will have an ECO #3 Chrome Plated with Stainless Steel Flex Fuel Line, an ECO-System Flame Cap and shirt with our Logo waiting for you when you get HOME. I will need your shirt size as well. You can e-mail me at
bnjb4taz@felpsis.net
You can then post on this forum what the ECO-System really does instead of just guess.
We have over 200 Titans with ECO-Systems and over 20,000 vehicles in Texas and Nevada and now pretty much all over and have less than 1 percent return.
We have fleets that are extremely happy with their savings and reductions in Harmful Emissions.
Some of our competitors have made it their mission to just look for our threads on forums and blast us, but the bottom line is it's your money going into the pump.
Please send me your info, that is the least I can do for you, and we'll see what these others will do for you while your fighting for us to have the right to express ourselves on these forums.
GOD BLESS YOU and RETURN SAFELY!
Your Titan and your ECO-SYSTEM will be waiting!
Ben

You gotta respect a response like that guys. I'm not looking to buy a unit (though a guy in our local club swears by it) but I respect the response. My hat's off to you Ben.
