Hey guys I got my HID's installed. It was very easy although I took my time adjusting the beams and securing the balasts and wires.
The only way to get a good comparative beam shot of HID vs stock is to take a picture of both lights at the same time, or locking ALL setting on your camera. Otherwise the camera will adjust to the lighting for the shot and hell even a flashlight can look brighter than a headlight on the truck.
The HID's appear to be about 2x as bright but they are actualy more than that, even with a decent beamshot, my camera was on auto, and I didn't spend much time taking these.

Oh yea and the ones in the pics are 6000k, The color in the pics is about what they look like IRL, although of course there is some variance and I may be slightly color blind :P

yea 8000k is cool, my friend has 10,000k on his ATV and it's definatly different. I went with 6000k since they are not truely legal unless they are certified in Cali...I figure closer to white would be less obvious that I might not have certified HID headlights. Although the titans reflectors are pretty good, they don't have the blue tinting on the tops of the lights like the BMW's which I guess is part of what makes HID's legal here.
not sure on the quality of the cheaper ones I just don't like china electronics, I have bad luck with stuff made in china, and shipping on them is $30 so it's really 180 vs 260. it took 5 buisness days (1 week for them to get from Japan to here) This pair is supposed to last the life of the vehicle.
To be honest although the output is much better than stock, I was expecting more. When I switched to HID's on my ATV the difference was amazing, hell I have 4 35 watt HID's on my ATV way brighter than the titan, and the lights were only a little more including the billet housing and HID reflector! I think these HID's are better quality though, or at least they work different. One bright flash and these babies start getting bright fast. On my ATV they flicker bright flashes untill they are warmed up all the way. The reflectors on the HID lights on my ATV were designed for HID's, where as the reflectors on the Titan are made for halogens. The beam isn't perfect, even a little less smoth than before but still worth the increase in brightness. On my ATV the beam is unbelievable, but they are far from road legal.
They do sell certified HID lights for most vehicles but I have not sceen one for the titan. (they replace the entire headlights and are very expensive, not just the bulb).

you get what you pay for. i ordered a kit for a friend (he had no ebay account) and the bulbs came snapped in half.. don't ask, as confused as you are.
the rest of the kit is just cheap all around. i hope it works since i would hate to put it in (a whole day's work) and it burn out in a month.
intoxicated, you don't get much light because you went all blue (it's blue as sin). i also noticed that you need to aim the headlights down after the conversion, helps a lot. sometimes the bulbs are just badly cut and do not match the proper reflector points. not much you can do about that.

The kit seemed to be good quality, everything just snapped in place.
I used industrial strength velcro from lowes to mount the ballasts. It was far from a whole days work, what took the longest was cutting the velcro and whiping down the tray to mount it, and well adjusting them took me a while as well because I wanted it perfect but not blinding to other drivers. ( I adjusted them after I took the pictures of course.) They have not seemed to bother any drivers so far so I think the law enforcement should leave me alone. Then when It's time to hit the dunes (if I take my truck instead of Dad's 3500) a few turns with the screwdriver and I will have some nice offroad lights without having to mount a lightbar.
They actualy look more white than blue in person, especialy looking at the lights on the truck, I do like it as I was tempted to get 8000k's from the start anyways. I think the lights on my ATV are more of a true white though.
The bulbs are simply a different shape than the stock halogens so I can't expect a reflector designed for halogens (hotwire) to perfectly fit an HID bulb where the wire is on the side of the bulb and teh light is not emitted from a radial hotwire, and the bulbs is a completly different shape. I have a facination with high end flashlights and LED's etc and the reflector ALWAYS needs to be designed around the bulb/LED or at least modified for the best results and smoothest beam!. Well there are a few exceptions...The titan's reflectors do a decent job with the HIDs though, so no regrets!
I'm glad the pics help.
On a sale of 1 to 10, I give it a 2, because you need a screw driver to remove the plastic under the wheel well, you can't touch the bulb, and it requires some adjustment once they are insalled. A 1 would be more like installing an air freshener! I would much rather install HID's for someone than change their oil

You should add HIDs to your fog lights too. You'd be amazed at the results. Lots of light right in front of you, no "dead space" between your front end and the headlight beams, and lights to the sides amazingly well. It's just amazing how much better HIDs are than halogens. I will never go back to halogens, if I can help it.
Tech12Volt Enclosure, TechTubes Polished SS Step Rails, OEM Fog Lights, OEM Bug Deflector, ARE LSII Hard Tonneau Cover, Black Stubby Antenna, Volant CAI,
JDM 6000K HID Lows & Fogs, SilverStar Halogen High-beams, LED Third Brake Light, Red Billet Aluminum Oil Cap, Red Active Tuning Grounding Kit, Body Colored Front Spoiler,
Glad to hear you like the Hids, I have the same set installed in the Titan and love them. Quick question...did you adjust the beam up or down? I feel like I could adjust mine up a little but don't want to blind someone.

it's a normal feeling. the light on the ground tells you to go up, but when you pull up behind a car, look at where the cut off is. mine is about the lid on a miata or about halfway on the trunk lid on a camry...
you will have a lot more glare even with aimed down lights so that is something to consider. if you have a lift, that will only make everything worse
