I am all ready to by my Titan tomorrow. There is only one problem. I ordered it with a spray on liner, and it came in with a plastic bed liner!
What do I do. They say they are having a very hard time getting the truck and the color I wanted. Should I take it anyway or tell them no.
They also offeered to do an aftermarket spray in liner, but that kind of scares me....
HELP.. opinions needed tonight!
I am supposed to get it tomorrow.
I would think an aftermarket bed liner would be fine as long as it is a quality
one. I assume that the year end supply of 06 is why they can't find the one you want.
Did you order the Utilility Bed Package and if you did, did they leave off anything else off such as the Utili-track System, 12V outlet in the bed, etc?

There is a factory bedliner in it. It looks nice. I just thought the spray on is better, but I was just reading some of the problems with them. Maybe I am better off with the plastic bedliner. I never really said I wanted the whole utility package with the rail system. So I don't think they were charging for it. How much is that package anyway?
Are those rails drilled and bolted into the bed? I can see that causing some rust problems in years to come.
If it is an XE then I don't think you can get the utilitrack system. I think your only OEM options are the factory spray in liner or the dealer installed drop in (which it already has). Sounds like they are willing to pull the drop in and have an aftermarket spray in installed. It really is personal preference - I would go for the aftermarket spray in if it was to be done by a good installer with quality materials. You probably would not know the difference between it and OEM.
Its an SE. Everything else is perfect the way I wanted in Red Brawn.
I have a feeling its a blessing in discise that I don't have that factory spray in. I might just stick with the drop in and be happy!
I AM SO EXCITED TO GET THIS TRUCK!
I have a 2001 Ram that I am trading in for it.
Slow down a little bit. How many nissan dealerships have you talked to? If you don't mind me asking, how much over invoice are you paying.
It might take a little bit longer, but they usually can make stuff happen, in the color you want, with what you want, at the price you want. If they can't, someone else will. If the dealership knows there's someone else you're talking to at the same time; they're more compelled to get you what you want.

The 900 dollars spent for the utli-track system is mostly lost at trade in...the bedliner, sprayed in or otherwise is the only thing you get anything back on.

I have been dealing with 2 about 30min apart from each other. They seem to have a hard time finding just the right setup. Most seem to be CCs and I wanted a KC.
I also have the PO and Towing package. I was kind of picky for color. First I wanted smoke, but they were having a hell of a time getting a dealer to trade one to them. So I went with the red, (which I am glad now) becuase I like it better.
I am in upstate NY dealing with Newburgh Nissan and (was) dealing with Middletown Nissan
If you wanted a spray in liner I would get the dealership to pay for it. The quality of the aftermarket liner is just as good, I think atleast. Stuff slides around to much in the back with just plastic liners.
The utilitrac does come in handy at times though, but if you dont haul stuff that needs to be tied down its not such a big deal. Its one of those things that you dont need till you own it but, once you have it you cant live without.
Go Red Brawn!
All the dealers are hooked into the same network to search for the vehicle you're interested in. They're both trying to find the same vehicle, and it's either out there, or it isn't. I had two dealers trying to find my truck. I was very specific, and there was only one in the state. Both dealers told me this, so I don't see how they could be co-conspirators.
As for the liner issue, you'll just have to decide which you want. My personal preference is spray in liner. That was one of the things which made me go for the higher sticker on the LE I finally went with.

I will be on these boards a lot after I get it
You are in gotta have it mode and that can cost you money because the dealers recognize it. Having said that, red brawn is a great color and has the highest color adjustment on edmunds. (i have majestic blue but red brawn was also at the top of my want list) and the truck is what you want. So go for it, have a great experience tommorrow and welcome to ownership. These are most excellent trucks.

Go Red Brawn!
Last December I had local Nissan dealer search for a Red Brawn CC 4X2. There was exactly 1 within 75 miles of my house, which I bought. Search also turned up 5 Red Alerts in the same area...meaning only 6 total red Titans in LA area.
So if you insist on this color, it might be hard to find within a reasonable distance from your residence.

Thats what they are telling me too. So I guess I better just go for it while I have one avalible.
Drop-in liners chafe & warp from temp changes. Stuff gets under them & makes it worse. A good aftermarket spray-in will beat oem-cost cut thin spray-in. Spray-ins have their cons but would go for it over drop-in. Especially if they're paying for it.
