Tricks/tips for in-channel vent visors

Since I have a set showing up tomorrow, along with a new Tonneau .
Never put on a set of the in channels, just the outside type. Any hints or tricks to make the install go smooooothly .
Cheers, Lee S.

Re: Tricks/tips for in-channel vent visors

I cleaned the livin' snot out of my channel w/windex before using the alcohol wipes.
I couldn't completely insert them when test fitting, but it showed me how they were going to fit.
Don't be too afraid to bend them a bit to keep the sticky surface from touching as you put them in as they are pretty flexible. Especially if you let them warm in the sun first.
I did all 4 doors(CC), a bugshield, & a rear window sun deflector all, by AVS. It turned out pretty cool.
Hope this helps.

If you happen to be getting Weather Tech in-channel vent visors, there is a cool video on their web site showing exactly how to install them. It's pretty easy once you watch the video. I love the ones I have.

Re: Tricks/tips for in-channel vent visors

I just put mine on yesterday. I have ventavisor brand. Mkae sure you clean in that channel with the wipe on your finger. Once you install them, close your window back up and leave it closed to help keep the peressure on the double sided tape.

Keep your windows close for a few days to help it form. It's pretty straight up.

Re: Tricks/tips for in-channel vent visors

test fit with the protective tape on. keep in mind that when you take it off, you only have one try to get them right, so keep that in mind.

i put them in and out like 3 times each to ensure i had it down before i stuck them on. took < 10 minutes total

Also- the first time you roll up your windows after installing the visors- do it slowly making sure there's a little clearance- especially at the forward most part of the visor.

Re: Tricks/tips for in-channel vent visors

Installed them tody. Not sure if they'll stay on the truck though. They look nice and ull but i'm not wild about peeling back the weatherstripping to insert the fronts, esp. the rear windows. Seems it would develop a water problem there.
All in all, I prefer the outside mount type.
Cheers, Lee S.

Re: Tricks/tips for in-channel vent visors

I had mine on for a day with the windows sealed closed. I went on a trip yesterday and the wind noise was terrible! I had to take them back off. Any tricks to having them seal out the wind better?
The truck had vertualy no wind noise before I put them on. They are In channel
