Re: stillen front bumper

The XE is definitely a bit different in it's mounting steps. There are a couple of different ways to attack the install. Either way make sure your body work skills are up to the job of being able to do a clean install.

1) Using a dremel you can remove the extra material that is currently running into the extra flange on the top of the bumper. This is pretty easy to do you just need to make sure you have a steady hand otherwise it can leave an ugly gap between the bumper cover and that flange.

2)(this is the one I recommend) Again, Using a dremel you can remove the extra flange on the top of the factory cover. This is good because if you take off a little more than you'd like...You cover it up with the bumper cover, problem solved.

Re: stillen front bumper

thats what i thought i had to do. i didnt want to cut the oem bumper just in case i want to make it back to the stock look. however i have a extra SE bumper without the colormatched side panels. do you need those for the install? and how do you guys mount the factory fogs? thanks. just to be sure, you are talking about the area under the headlight that is raised to be cut down right?

Re: stillen front bumper

Yes I'm referring to the little lip under the headlights. Using the SE bumper will allow for an easier install. I recommend getting the corner pieces because it makes it easier to attach and allows for a more precise fit. If you choose not to do that then it will still work out for you just fine. Simply drill a few holes along the top of the bumper cover through your bumper. Remove your grill and headlights to do this that way you can get the screws that we provided you well hidden behind/underneath all that.

Like I said, I do recommend using the side corner pieces because without them it will leave you without much rigidity on the corners but it will still work without them.
