newb question! Lifts?

Well I pick up my titan tuesday and i'm already thinking about my lift kit! I want a 6inch but im thinking its going to be to much money! Plus I will have to buy 35's to make it look normal which will result in more gas gussled! So my question is can somebody please tell me the full cost on a 4inch lift and a 6 inch lift! I always search it on the web but its says you need this and that! I'm not going to lie im confussed! Thanks in advance....Oh and if I go 4 inch lift will 33's look fine?

4"(Rancho-4wd only, PRGproducts both) and 6"(Fabtech-4wd only, Procomp-both) cost about the same. As far as worring about tires, go with a 315/70/17 and you will save on gas compared to the 35s and they will look good.

Re: newb question! Lifts?

I forgot to ask if you were 2wd or 4wd. If you are 2wd there is a CST 4" lift spindle also. It runs in the 800 range with new rear bilstien shocks. You can add a leveling kit to the mix also and get 6 1/2" for less then 1000 with a stock ride and more ground clearance and less aftermarket parts.

Re: newb question! Lifts?

the CST kit alone goes for around 2100; look around and i'm sure you can find it for around 1600. But keep in mind that you need rear shocks with that kit, and down the road you'll also want to upgrade to front coilovers (if you have a 4x4, i'm assuming you'll be taking it off road). The front shocks will blow out pretty quickly. Call Greg @ PRG, if that kit is too much, he can set you up with a kit that performs well, and get you the best customer service for your money

Re: newb question! Lifts?

For lowest cost I would get the 6" procomp lift. Then find a set of Rancho front struts for now to use when you put on the lift. They will 4x better. When you save up some cash get some donahoe racing coilovers and some bilstien shocks for the rear.

Re: newb question! Lifts?

Find a local shop and have them look into the procomp kit. The pc and ft kits run around the same price after all the extras but the install on the pc kit "should" be less expensive as its a bit less time consuming to install. Run the factory struts for now as they are new. Eventually you will need to replace them and think about upgrading then. You cannot combine a regualar replacment DR coilover and use it in on a PC kit as the upper arm will hit the coilbucket, you will need to add the TC upper a-arm, and even extra expense. Also, dont mix the Rancho "lift" struts with any other kit, they are way too short to even work properly. Lastly, if you are goning to have the kit installed locally, buy the kit form that shop. It may ave you a few bucks to buy it on e-bay, but your installer will certainly cahrge more because he didnt sell you the kit and if there are nay problems or parts missing, he will hand you the "fix-it" torch and the kit itself wont be his problem, but yours. Kit should run you around $1300-1400 plus 4-500 for install. If you are keeping the factory wheels, you can shoe-horn a 35" tire in there (NOT a procomp, toyo, or nitto though) by ditching the mud flaps and runnigna leveling kit. See pic of yellowmantis' truck.

Re: newb question! Lifts?

My kit is in the mail right now. I should have pics up of mine within a week. Im getting mine from Greg @ PRG. Its 6 1/2" up front and 4 inches in the rear. Im also grabbing a set of 325/65/18 tires on the stock rims here within the next month.
