Cabela's Window Vent Shades

I bought a set of Cabela's window ventshades for my CC. Very nice and a cinch to install. They attach via the window track and dew wiper area. The fronts use no adhesive and the rear windows have some adhesive strips to hold them in place after they are installed. Nice and clean looking.

Re: Cabela's Window Vent Shades

how are the auto windows working for ya after the install...I removed my wades after a few months cuz my windows would just not work with the auto up... It bothered the heck outta me so I got the windows tinted instead and removed the in channel visors...

Re: Cabela's Window Vent Shades

It was around 50 degrees and dropping when I installed them and auto up would not work. After sitting in the sun all the next day, the auto up works just fine now. The directions state that it may take some use of the windows and time for them to settle into the channel to have them operate smoothly.

u got a brand new truck? if so prolly why they work real good... they prolly end up killing ur windows faster though... more stress on the motors...

What keeps them in the window channel if there is no tape?

My truck is an 05, far from new. If the windows auto up and stay up there can't be too much stress on the window. If there were, the window would not stay up due to the safety mechanism that is there to stop from getting an arm or head pinched in the window.

hehe...give it some time... I got an 04 and I know others with 04s who have had the problem with the in channel visors...

it doesnt let the window go up as great as it could without em in there but its not enough to cause the "saftey switch" make em go back down... give em a while and itll happen...hehe...

I mean maybe u wont have the problem I was asking if u did like some of the rest of us... It wouldnt do it to ME all the time but it would do it often to where it started bothering me

Re: Cabela's Window Vent Shades

pictures??? like pi3yeargrad, I have the Wade in-channels as well on my CC. The auto up does mess up once in awhile, but it hasn't gotten me to a point that I want to yank them out yet... been in for 7 months now, they still feel firmly attached by the 3M tape that came with them...

ye, I also got tint on my windows and took em off cuz I didnt wanna risk scratching the tint on the top... and I dunno... after I got the tint the truck looked smoother/cleaner without em and it being all black... know what I mean... then the auto feature not working 100%, just didnt wanna mess with em anymore...

Re: Cabela's Window Vent Shades

true 'dat, I've been delaying the tint in fronts as well, prob will remove them if I do get the tint... until then, I just keep the button pulled and force the window to close, so the motor and switch can go out before my warranty expires...lol

Re: Cabela's Window Vent Shades

Whatever man. Believe what you want about motors burning up and so on. Mine work just fine and I have yet to have auto not work since my initial install 2 weeks ago. I roll down my driver side window no fewer than 3 times a day to get onto base to go to work. If there were a problem I think I'd know by now. I don't know what brand Cabelas is rebadging but the lip is only 1/4 inch or so. Not exactly a long amout of travel for the window to encounter motor wrecking resistance. FWIW wasn't there a TSB or an issue with some 04's and early 05's in regards to problems with the window regulators requiring them to be replaced? The intent of my post was to inform other Titan owners of my satisfaction with a product I bought not debate all brands and other opinions of them. If what you have stinks, then post about how they didn't work for you in your own thread.
