Re: Tire Pressure Sensors

better than the $80/tire that the stealership quoted me. (my slightly used LE came WITHOUT the sensors! stupid light comes on all the time). i just don't know if it's worth$300 to replace 'em.
does anybody else have a comment on the functionality of these things? are they completely accurate? are they worth the $$??

Re: Tire Pressure Sensors

I have them on my LE. I have removed two of them. The Light staying on does not bother me because I don't look at my dash when driving. I removed them when I had slow leaks after buying aftermarket wheels. No more leaks after using standard valve stems.

Re: Tire Pressure Sensors

I bought a set of custom wheels for my 05 Titan.....without air pressure sensors. The warning light coming on did bother me...but discovered an easy fix. Go to any craft store and buy some stick-on felt dots. They are available in many colors and sizes. Place one over the warning light indicator. Problem solved, and easily removed at a later time if you wish.

Re: Tire Pressure Sensors

Looks like the 06 sensors are different than the 04-05 and cheaper in price:
40700-CK002 NISSAN TITAN 2004-2005 $81.00
40700-CK001 NISSAN TITAN 2006 $62.55

So, without the sensors, does the light come on instantly? or is it delayed...mine come on after about 30 miles on continuous driving as it is, so I think they are broken.

w/o sensors it sometimes takes a while for the light to come on. i got my tech to turn off the light for free for me during a scheduled service (service manager was going to charge me an hr labor to turn off the light when i asked previously). however, last time i had it in for service i think the tech may have done something cuz now the stinkin' light is back!!!

they work (well at least mine do) if the light is on then put air in your tire(s) -

Re: Tire Pressure Sensors

You can't pull the bulb as it's a soldered LED. Now you can remove the gauge face and place a piece of electrical tape over the LED. Now just install your new gauge face or the factory unit and no more light. When I installed my No Fear package I did exactly that. I hate the idea of tire pressure monitors, makes for even more lazy vehicle owners. Get out and check your damn tire pressure and I am pretty sure you would know when you have a flat while driving.

Re: Tire Pressure Sensors

my advice about the stupid tire sensors is to try and deal with it, When I put rims they were leaking and had to get new ones, they were like 90 a peice to I said screw that, just put regular valve stems and check the tires everyonce and a while, my light has been on for a longgg time so I just got used of it,doesnt bother me. Hopfully itll burnout soon
