Yet another Undercover tonneau question!!!

Have a question and I did do a search and searched 5 pages of info but could not find my answer. I'm getting my undercover installed tomorrow. I have the utilitac system on my CC. I called around a few places for pricing and went to the best priced place. They told me when they install it they will have to flip the utilitrac rails upside down to install it and you will loose about 20% of the strenght load they are rated for. I was told by other installers that the rails would not have to be flipped. Which one is it? I am hoping to also add a OEM bed divider to this as well. Anyone out there with a CC Undercover tonneau with utilitrac confirm this please??? Rails flipped upside down or not??? Thanks!

Re: Yet another Undercover tonneau question!!!

I was going to get the undercover tonneau, but have changed my mind... going with the SNUGTOP with linear actuator or the new electric RETRAX ( still not out, talked to mfr in SEMA ).

To answer your question, undercover makes some special brackets that fit in the utilitrac, they are sold separetly from the cover... about $50 - 90, if the installer you selected does not have this special brackets, then yes, they will have to either remove or flip the utilitracks..

Re: Yet another Undercover tonneau question!!!

I found the web site: undercoverinfo.com

it specifically mentions the following: - To retain the optional Utili-Track system, must order adaptor kit Part #RSPT1360lK

Re: Yet another Undercover tonneau question!!!

THANKS TX!!! Do you think I should purchase the kit or live with the utilitrac's upside down. I guess they are still useable.

Re: Yet another Undercover tonneau question!!!

If you plan to get the bed divider or bed extender or any of the other options that use the utilitrack, you need the kit, if not.... remove the utilitrack all together....

I would get it.... it's not that expensive and it will make the install look cleaner....
