Flip Utilitrak Question

I am in the process of flipping my utilitrack so I can install a bakflip next month.

I was able to flip one side and had a couple of questions for those have done this:

Did you re-locktite the bolts?

Did you drill a hole for the single middle screw in the back of the track or just go without it?

It wasn't too bad to flip one side, probably took about 30 minutes.

Thanks!

I did not locktite mine, but it can't hurt. I also did not drill a hole for the center one, it is plenty strong without it. I have had mine done for about 4 months now, and they are still extremely tight.

Re: Flip Utilitrak Question

I flipped mine to install my undercover. Didnt drill holes for the other bolts and the supplier who installed them said they are fine that way, althought he said they are now only 80% of the manufacturers recommended load rating in strength so you loose 20% of the max load rating(whatever that number is). locktite is a good idea though but was not used in my install.

Re: Flip Utilitrak Question

Thanks I won't worry about the center bolts. I'll just be sure to mount the tie downs closer to the bolts if I need them so they aren't in the middle of those tracks.

I'll decide about the locktite later. I'll probably skip it and just check the periodically to make sure they stay tight. It will make it easier to switch them back if I need to in the future.
