Looking for a bed cover...

I have a 2006 Titan with the Utilitrack System. I want a retractable or roll up cover that will fit nicely, remove easily and allow me to continue to use the Utilitrack system. Am I looking for anything that exists?

Any info would be appreciated.

Just wanted to say that u could modify the unitract/by either flipping it up sidedown or just notch the track where the clamps mount i did this my self.

Re: Looking for a bed cover...

Search for a recent thread misspelled as "backflip" about the BakFlip as I have. I posted infor on mounting with pop rivets instead of the bulky clamps. This may serve you well. See what clearance you have at the top of course. I do not have UtiliTrak, but am going to install 2 rails on the bottom later on.

Re: Looking for a bed cover...

For me the BAKFlip was the best choice. It looks good on the Titan and seals the bed from rain. Once I figured out the tracks had to be flipped, the install took less than 45 mints. I just got the okay to order one for our Honda Ridgeline.

Re: Looking for a bed cover...

I have a berlin hinged cover and I love it. I have the util system, and the only catch with this cover is you have to hacksaw about 1/2" off the second set of clamps. It does not impair the system though.

It works as a roll up and hydraulic like a trunk. You can find em for around 220, just search for berlin hinged cover on google, or ebay, where I got mine. A great quality soft cover imo. It just sustained snow piled from the cover to the top of the cab, without folding or caving in whatsoever. Very nice.

Re: Looking for a bed cover...

BakFlip must be getting a cult following here. It really is a product worthy to be enthusiastic about!

Re: Looking for a bed cover...

I too am probably getting the back flip and flipping my tracks to install it. If you want something similar that works with the tracks as installed take a look at the Advance / Kcover. You can search on it here for more info or go to there web site at:

Re: Looking for a bed cover...

The only retractable that I know of that works with the utilitrack is the Retrax and I know that you lose use of the front section and possibly the smaller forward section on each side (I haven't seen one installed on a Titan). I don't think it can be classified as easily removable either (80+ lbs. for the canister). Retrax is also on the pricier side for a cover. On the other hand they look great and are real easy to operate.

Depending on what you want and what you want to spend there are a lot of soft roll-ups (Access, Truxedo, and Extang all have fairly popular covers (Lorado, LoPro, etc.) for the Titan) and folding covers (Bakflip and Advanced) that might meet your needs. Do a search for "tonneau" or any of the brands and you will find tons of reviews. Everyone has a favorite since all of the covers have their pros and cons and everyone uses their truck in different ways.

I have a Bakflip and couldn't really be any happier with a cover. It works great, is fairly secure, and is pretty much WEATHER-proof (if not exactly water-proof; very little water ever gets in and I think most is through the tailgate not the cover).

I just bought the RETRAX last week from truckaddons.com, shipping was free plus they were giving 10% off, as soon as I get it installed I will post some pictures.

Re: Looking for a bed cover...

Get a roll up Access Lorado! Awesome cover, fits and works great, looks cool, works with utilitrack without drilling and the price is right.

Re: Looking for a bed cover...

Lund is a decent brand, but Extang is as good but less known and less expensive. I have the Extang Trifecta and my boss has the Lund Trifold. They look and feel identical. They even have the same kind of tag sewn on the rear right corner, just have different names on them. Mine was $269. His was $379. I use Tonno Tonic on mine (about once a month) after washing and it still looks like new. His is only 4 months old, and with no care or washing, looks like it's 5 years old already.

Re: Looking for a bed cover...

I got my second Titan a few weeks ago, and had my second Access Lorado cover installed on it. The previous cover looked like new after two years of use. It also leaves the utilitrack completely free and functional.

Recommended!
