I am very interested in changing out my standard black side view morrors to chrome. I can get the authentic Nissan OEM chrome mirror caps for $49.00 pair. I would like to change them out but I was wondering how easy/hard this job is. They tell me "you just pop em' off" but I have had problems in the past with pop on/off parts for cars. I usually end up breaking clips, pins, etc. and then I have to spend mega $$$$ to replace damaged parts. If you have done this please chime in. I do not want the adhesive aftermarket cap...it is either leave em' alone or change em' out using factory parts. I eagerly await your reponses.
Re: Has anyone done this?? Mirrors Black to chrome??
It is a little tougher than "Pop em off" but it is not too bad. You will have turn the mirror all the way to one side and shine a flashlight in and you will see 4 tabs that need to be undone. Took about 30 minutes for the first and about 5-10 on the second. Take your time. You will need a long screwdriver.

They are easy. I have done three sets. If you are buying new chrome covers you don't even have to worry if you break a clip. The new covers have thier own clips. Just be gentle and slow and use a long thin flat head screw driver. The clips are towards the corners. Use a flashlight and look first before you attempt.
