Exclamation LUND Interceptor Bug Shield

I installed a Lund Bug Shield on my truck when it was new, it has 30k on it now. It's NOT garage kept, and I've noticed now that where the water from the hood runs down to the bugshield, then exits out the sides of the bug shield, has tarnished the chrome on my grill. I don't have any pics, have attached a drawing of the area: the green shows the tarnshed area, the red arrow points to where the bug shield material ends at , dumping the water right onto the grill. I guess if it was farther out, it would be on the headlight.

Anyone else with this problem?

Re: LUND Interceptor Bug Shield

So far I don't have this on this truck, but I had a similar problem on my last truck. Acid rain is a nasty opponent, especially when you're talking about how it affects cheesy chrome-plating on plastic. I don't think anyone will argue that this is a lousy combination. The best defense is to keep a good level of wax/polish on the chrome and stay on it. My last truck was 11 years old with only the slightest hint of discoloring on the grille chrome from this. You just have to keep on it. Labor of love....
