Cheap reliable HIDs?

Hey guys I'm wondering what the best "budget" HID kits are on ebay right now. I'm actualy looking for some 6007's for my dads 3500 dodge 4x4 for xmas. I don't have the cash to fork out as much as I did for my 2 JDM kits in my titan at this time. I just don't want to get him something that will cause him a headache.

I'd like to spend under $150, closer to 100 is possible for a decent kit.

I was wondering if anyone had experience with any of these kits.

(ballasts look similar to JDM)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/XenTe...55837463QQrdZ1

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-X...61987545QQrdZ1
Are these knock off JDM's because they are less than 1/2 what the guy I purchased from was selling real JDM's for...

And this setup. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HID-C...57687430QQrdZ1

Re: Cheap reliable HIDs?

reliable and cheap dont often come together in the same sentence reguarding hid lighting. imo if your willing to spend some cash on hid's go with somethign reliable like phillips or hella. they are proven to be good ballast. some have some ok lick with mculloch but i have seen them fail before

Re: Cheap reliable HIDs?

I would get em... I didnt check all the links but I have had my HIDs for months now with no probs and they work great... just check feedback ratings and ORDER...lol...most of these kits still have a warranty anyway... and most arent as crazy as JDMs which charged u to replace when it was their bad product to begin with...

While I would agree, I don't have that much cash at this time. It's HID's or cloths for Dad this X-mas, and I hate buying cloths for other people (only thing he asked for).

Then again, my GF leaked the info to my dad about what I was planning to get him, so maybe I should find somthing else anyways.

I have an h.i.d. kit on my truck, a guy in a 760li stopped me yesterday and asked where he could make his lights look that bright haha.... I told him just contact bosche..... I have a hid kit that's for a infiniti suv. Their super bright 8000k 9006 Hd4s. And they are tuff, I rally my truck, and they haven't flickered once.

Re: Cheap reliable HIDs?

These are the ones that I bought. I've had them for about 5 months ~6,000 miles. They were a little more expensive when I bought them. No complaints so far.

Also, a common misconception is that the higher the K (Kelvin temperature) the brighter it gets, but in fact, it is the opposite. The K rating is inversely proportional to the light output, therefore the lower the K the brighter the light output.

Re: Cheap reliable HIDs?

i had the jdm kit and was lucky they're holding up after exactly 1 year this month. you're post killed me. lol

anyhow I just ordered from this place... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/9007-...9503QQtcZphoto

i picked up bi-xenon H4s for my corolla. I hope to get them in 1-2 more days.

it says they're korean made which is generally better made for quality just like LG and Samsung products. geez even Hyundais are better.

the only thing I don't like is the separate igniter but I'll see how it goes.

I bought the same kit but mine are 6000. Mine stay blue. Have had them about 3 months now with no problems at all. Easy install with great instructions. I read them when I got finished to see if I did it right.

Re: Cheap reliable HIDs?

Thanks everyone for their valuable information.

I went with the XenTec Kit because I liked their AD, they have awesome feedback, no seperate ignitor (older technology and don't want hassle to mount more stuff on my dads vehicle) and seemed to have some quality to the parts their kits are made of (they provided .3% failure rate).

Their price was at most $15 more than the kits that are probably made in china. In the end it's just a guess as to which is the best deal.

Re: Cheap reliable HIDs?

I got free HID's and they are reliable... just take them from a crashed lexus or mercedes.. all plug right in with a very slight trim of plastic and drill 2 holes to mount... 4 family members titan have it this way..

Look at the picture of the ballast at the bottom of the seller's page. Tsun-tien Equipments Co., Ltd. is located in Banciao, Taipei, Taiwan. I don't understand how they can call them "Genuine Japanese products"
