Re: Bulb Type for Cargo Light? Want something Brighter...
Man, mine are super-bright as it is...It lights up everything behind my truck and is blinding if you look straight into it. Maybe they made them brighter for 06?
Re: Bulb Type for Cargo Light? Want something Brighter...
yea, they work ok but I really want something brighter and whiter...
I also need the bulb type/number for the rear interior light in the KC as well as the marker lights for the doors. I want to replace the rear interior with a bright red LED. And the marker lights with something else as well.
I found these LED lights for the interior. Thinking abotu changing to Red for tbhe map light in the rear and possibly in the front. This way if my passenger needs a light I can turn the red one on while I'm driving with screwing up my night vision. http://www.superbrightleds.com/specs/festoon.htm
I also found these on ebay but they cost more and appear to be nearly the same thing with less LED's JDM Stuff
Re: Bulb Type for Cargo Light? Want something Brighter...
Osram Sylvania lists the titan backup lights as 921 or 921LL, Are these the reverse lights in the taillights or in the 3rd cargo/brake light????????
*I just broke one of the from maplights trying to get the cover off the check space for a different style bulb. Anyone know where I can get a replacement or eveb the proper removal procedure for the front maplights? The rear is cake to remove.

The map light covers just pop open,. Be careful not to break the tab that holds them up. if you do, the replacement lens was a whopping 3 bucks for the pair at the dealer. the bulb, I had a hard time finding so i used one that looked like it with a different #, works fine,. Dunno about the bed lights.

Re: Bulb Type for Cargo Light? Want something Brighter...
How hard is it to remove the Carg light? I'm thinking I may be able to wire u something that uses the new Cree HID's They are near HID efficiency (at least with lower powered HID's) and turn on instantly. (in case the guy behind you thinks it's funny to tailgate you with his highbeams on)...
So the question is, how hard would it be to mount a small aluminum plate in both sides of the stock cargo light? if that can be done I will order some parts after X-mas!
Anyone tried Xenon Bulbs for their reverse lights? Are they any brighter than stock?
How do you pop off the maplight covers without breaking the tab? Thats what happened to mine, the tab broke off while I was trying to press the cover ont he 2 little posts that it pivots on. I'm even more affraid of busting off those 2 posts since it took alot of force to get them to "pop" back over them. actualy had to tap it with a screw driver handle...

Very carefully. I used a small screwdriver and pryed it next to the little tab, gently. The other option is to pry out the hinge side then slide it out.
