Re: Front Level Kit

Yes there are people on here that have them.
From their reports, the NCD seem to be just as good as PRG.
Have you checked out NCD's website? They offer those spacers with bumpstops and a puller for a few more dollars.

Re: Front Level Kit

You do not need a puller. A puller might do damage. Bump stops are 10 bucks at Pep Boys. Just FYI.

Re: Front Level Kit

I agree. But it never hurts to have another tool in the box. Especially for what NCD sells the kit for.

Amen. Particularly nice to have the right tools prior to tackling the job, instead of buying them with bleeding, bandaged hands later.

My thoughts exactly.

My friends are amazed to see my tool chests are stacked up taller than I am. They’ve never worked on their own vehicles and never will. They just don’t know how much better I feel knowing that my wife drives a car that has everything well maintained, all fluid levels where they should be, and any needed repair was done right the first time.

I feel sorry for people who don’t know how to do even the simplest repairs on their own. I have a sixteen year old son that I’m trying to teach to be as self sufficient as possible. Some of the best times we have are when we work on vehicles together.

Re: Front Level Kit

No, it won't cause any damage, it just isn't needed.
It's to push the upper balljoint loose from the spindle.
You can LOOSEN the upper balljoint nut, and with the suspension hanging, use a hammer to strike the side of the spindle next to the balljoint, which should loosen it from it's tapered seat in the spindle.
Then you can support the suspension again and remove the nut.
It saves alot of time over fussing with a puller.

Re: Front Level Kit

I'm sorry guys, I was thinking in my head the pickle fork kind of thing, which I've been lead to believe could cause damage. I've never been to the NCD site, so don't know what kind it is, I just had my brain going that one direction. As Brundy says, just a couple of good hits with a hammer and it's done.

Re: Front Level Kit

Pickle forks ruin the boots on the balljoints, but not nessesarily the joint itself. I only use them as a last resort or if I'm r&r'ing the joint.

Isn't the boot an integral part of the joint?

Nah, its no project. I did mine in 2 1/2 hours, and that included adjusting the headlights (you WILL want to aim 'em down a bit )

No, Energy Suspension makes urethane replacements.
Probably other companies too.

Re: Front Level Kit

Looks like an exact knock-off of the PRG leveling kit.
