Re: Looking for a wood dash trim kit.

Here's a few threads to check out:

Trims R Us

Dash Kit's

Carbon Fiber door/window switch trim

Burt man industries makes one. Sherwood also makes them. I've also seen several on eBay and they have all sorts of wood, billet, painted, carbon-fiber options. And there are obviously different levels of these kits from a few pieces up to 60 pieces. Check it out.

And as always, if you decide to go with it, pics, please...

Re: Looking for a wood dash trim kit.

Ditto on the pics. One of the thing I'd love to change is all the plastic look inside. Pics please!

On a similar note, I looked inside one of the new Silverados a couple of days ago. It was in the mall near my house, I WASN'T out shopping, just for the record. The interior wasn't all that much different than ours as far as amount of plastics used. That made me feel a little better.

http://edashkit.com

Try that company. I think they have the largest selection of colors/woods and the most pieces.

Re: Looking for a wood dash trim kit.

I found a guy on ebay that has the best prices I've found (and i have been looking REAL hard) on dash kits. So far (IMHO) the best quality kits come from a company called Sherwood dash. They claim to be a OEM fabrication site.
The seller has a ebay store and I think it is wooddashman.com. His name is Jim and he has been very helpfull to me . I have an order with him to match my blonde apaya qx56 console (thanks elbo) with a titan kit. Picts to follow after install.

Re: Looking for a wood dash trim kit.

I believe Sherwood is offered by autoanything.com

The problem with adding a wood or aluminum dash IMO, is that there is soooo much grey plastic in the interior..especially if you have a center console, that the wood grain/aluminum overlay looks tacked on.

Re: Looking for a wood dash trim kit.

The wood we add should be used sparingly to accent ones interior rather than totally transforming it to something it wasn't meant to be. The more wood you add, the more fake and plastic it looks. I think we should be very selective with what and how much we add.

agreed. we just have a utalitarian interior. i was thinking about getting the wood kit for christmas but i asked the gf and he is like "not digging it". i got a 2nd and 3rd opinion (using photos - the few i found) and people didn't like it. because i am not really into it myself, i was persuaded against it. i think it was the best course

[quote]Any good ones out there, looking for a black wood kit.[quote]A black wood kit (if available) or a black ash would be very tasteful. It would look more appropriate in the Titan interior than something in a blond or reddish tone. I think it is hard to pull off wood on the interior unless there are other yellow and red tones in the interior.
