installing fog lights...

my titan unfortunately didnt come with fog lights and i heard that all titans come pre wired for them, so i picked up the lights and a new turn signal switch with the fog light on it. and i cant seem to find where the wiring is. theres wires down there with a black cover on them and thats it. any help would be great. thanks

Re: installing fog lights...

All SE's come prewired for Foglights, if you have an XE I would look behind the bumper and see if yours is or not, if not then you will have to also purchase a wireing harness.

Re: installing fog lights...

If your truck is an XE it's not prewired unless it has the OR package. You can still use the OEM fog lights kit with the stalk, you will need to run your own wires using a relay. You also need to get two plugs to fit in the fog lights, it's a GM parts that's a direct fit to the Nissan fog lights.

Than you can follow my diagram to hook it up.
The green and blue wire need to be cut from the circuit board.

Re: installing fog lights...

There is a new fog light kit that comes with the wiring you are missing. You have to ask for the XE kit.

Re: installing fog lights...

hey baseballfanz..........

after months of stalling, i attempted that mod, u know the one where that guy (i forget who) posted a couple of pics on how to wire the fogs to the running lights, and blowing one of the fuses?

well, i gave up after i couldnt blow the 20amp fuse! i followed the instuctions by connecting the fuse between the 2 battery terminals, and all i got was a few zaps and some smoke, but the fuse was still good. PLUS how in the world could i solder the wire to those tiny fuses? there rerally wasnt any place to solder the wire to on the fuse.

i hope u know which mod im talking bout. is there any other simple way to get that mod done? im beginning to consider paying someone at a mod shop to do it for me.

i want fogs to run w the running lights. dont know why Nissan didnt build that feature into the Titan!? because my Altima did have that option.

THX

That's the "Jumper" method. Instead of soldering, you can go to Autozone or similar and buy a fuse holder.

At the end you can use fuse tap.

No, the fuse in the holder need to be "Good" The blown fuse goes where the fog ligth fuse would go. Also the blown fuse not need to be 20 amp, it could be any amp if it will make it easier to blow a 5 amp fuse.

Looking at these pictures it doesn't seem like there's a fuse in between the two (I would go ahead and do it anyway to be safe).

Re: installing fog lights...

I have an XE that is pre-wired for fog lights with the OR package. I want to install the fog lights myself and want to know what I will need to install them properly(ie: a different turn signal switch or toggle switch)?
