Big Tow Mirrors with HEAT

Howdy..
I have '06 se titan texas edition with Big Tow Mirrors with HEAT, but the problem is with finding switch for the HEAT?.. I assumed that it will be somewhere by the mirror switch, well, its not there, I am thinking that the wood trim covers the actual heat switch?? any idea??
Thanks...

Re: Big Tow Mirrors with HEAT

It's on the right side knob of your heat and A/C controls. You just push the middle of it to turn on the heat. There is an icon in the middle of the knob like the one on the mirrors and a light will come on when you turn it on. It works similar to the A/C switch on the left side knob. Hopefully this makes sense.

Re: Big Tow Mirrors with HEAT

Senna is correct. BTW, it will only stay on for about 10 minutes then it turns itself off.

Re: Big Tow Mirrors with HEAT

In my '04 only the top mirror gets heated, the bottom mirror doesn't.

Frustrating delay!!!

One more valuable piece of data...

The delay from touching the button to seeing the light come on can be way too long. You need to push the selector switch in, let it go and wait a few seconds. I wanty things like switches to work right now, not when they are darn ready to, sometimes I end up turning the mirrors off because I hit the switch twice because the light never came on, but it was about to from the 1st time I hit it....

I honestly don't think any of the convex mirrors heat up due to the fact that they are plastic and not glass.

My '06 doesn't heat the bottom mirrors either. Makes me have to shoulder check.

Re: Big Tow Mirrors with HEAT

In my CC, the mirrors heat up with the rear window defroster. They are on the same heater control as the front defroster switch. As mentioned, they only stay on for 15 minutes or so and automatically turn off.

Damn, does it actually get that cold where you guys are that you need the bottom mirror to defrost too?

Luckily I never need it to defrost. I need it to clear the morning dew off.

Re: Big Tow Mirrors with HEAT

The convex mirrors don't heat because their is no power to them, and because they are plastic, I have yet to be convinced that I have rear defrost on my king cab, The dealer told me it had rear defrost when I bought the truck, but I know it must take a really long time to defrost if it does.

Re: Big Tow Mirrors with HEAT

My rear slider window has defrost in it. You will know if it's got it by the thin black lines going across it.

I didn't think the KC came with a rear window defroster. Mine didn't.
