Unhappy Titan Front Diff

I am in desperate need of a front diff assy w/ 3.35 ratio for my 2004 Titan,
it failed on me at 74k and Nissan dealer want $1500. just for the assy.
Would love to find a heavier build but so far no luck.
Also tried a few salvage yards but no luck thier either?
Anyone else had 1 fail?>

Re: Titan Front Diff

You can check with your local 4x4/drivetrain shop to see how much it would be to build a custom one for you. I know the 4x4 specility shops aren't as common as wher I'm at in Colorado (I used to live in Johnstown and near Dubis), but it may be worth a shot. If not contact Currie enterprises (http://http://www.currieenterprises....t_rearend.aspx) or Dynatrac (http://www.dynatrac.com/aa.html) or maybe even Tera-flex (www.teraflx.com). They should be able to build you an axle for that $1500 price tag that will be stronger than the stock front. I had Tera-flex build me one of their specilaized Dana 60's for my wrangler...fully optioned out, ready to throw it in the vehicle it was a little over $3500, but when I was looking Currie seemed to have better prices and I could have gotten one for about $1500 if I wasn't using it for semi-extream rock crawling.

Re: Titan Front Diff

Yes, somebody please go and get a bullet proof front diff to market for $1,500. Go ahead and put a TruTrac in it and make it $2,000. Count me in.

Re: Titan Front Diff

you can build all the bullet proof diffs you want but sooner or later 380 f/lbs torque will find the next weakest link ie. tranny or transfer case.
I just wish my diffs would hold up to normal driving conditions

When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.
