BAKflip with a bike

My neighbor got the BAKflip tonneau on his Frontier the other day and it looks great. I'm getting close to putting one on my Titan but I have a bike rack on my front rail. I don't like the idea of not being able to see out the rear glass if I had my bicycle in the back. Can you drive with the tonneau partialy open? I mean without the chance that the wind would grab a pannel and slam it shut on my bike. If not then I could then mount my bike to the side rails.

Re: BAKflip with a bike

Yes I do it all the time and have never had the cover flip closed. I have my bike mount on the side utilitrack rail and only open the very back panel when I am hauling my bike. At first I was nervous about the wind catching the cover but I have since had it on the highway doing 70 without problems.

Re: BAKflip with a bike

How do you guys like the BAKflip? I am looking for a cover since the Titan is my primary family vehicle now and don't know which route to go. So far the BAKflip is leading the list but i'm just not sure. I haven't been able to find any pictures of it on a Titan with the utilitrack system. Any help?

Re: BAKflip with a bike

I have posted some pics here Tonneau decision

I am still as happy as I could be with the bakflip. IMHO It looks good, is more secure than a soft tonneau but with none of the hassles of a hard fiberglass cover when it comes to hauling stuff and it costs less than a retrax.

Re: BAKflip with a bike

I installed a Bakflip a few weeks ago and I love it. It was simple to install (no utilitrack) and looks great, I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quality hard cover.
